Dr. Carannante is a Professor in the School of Medicine and Surgery, Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, Rome, Italy. Having received his MD Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome in 2015, Dr. Carannante undertook his postgraduate training at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome Hospital and has been a colorectal consultant surgeon in the Colorectal Unit, Department of Surgery since 2021. After a one-year research fellowship at Federico II University of Naples under the instruction of Professor Francesco Corcione, Dr. Carannante returned to Campus Bio-Medico University and obtained his PhD degree. He was promoted to Professor in the School of Medicine, Campus Bio-Medico University in 2023. His ongoing research interests are colorectal diseases (particularly colon and rectal cancer), minimally invasive surgery and proctology. He is a member of the editorial boards and a reviewer of several scientific journals and has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles. Currently, Dr. Carannante is a consultant colorectal surgeon at Colorectal Surgery clinical and research Unit of Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
