Professor Mochammad Hatta MD, PhD, Clinical Microbiologist (Cons) is professor on Molecular Biology and Immunology for Infectious Diseases and human diseases in Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University Makassar, Indonesia. His MD degree from Hasanuddin University in 1985 and completed PhD in Faculty of Medicine, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical Univ, Japan in 1992 in. He is holding a Chairman and Consultant in Ind Clinical Microbiologist Association. Also, as chairman of Post Graduate School, Medical Faculty, Hasanuddin University, Indonesia. Prof. Hatta is known for his research in Molecular Biology and Immunology aspects of human diseases, Mycobacteria, Salmonella typhi, Leptospira, Development new simple diagnostic test for typhoid fever, leprosy, leptospirosis, and brucellosis. Development of recombinant DNA BCG vaccine; Molecular epidemiology study of leprosy and typhoid fever; Development and evaluation of effectivity Salmonella typhi vaccine; Molecular genetic study of leprosy and application of chemoprophylaxis for leprosy; WGS and snp analysis for S. typhi in Indonesia and novel new flagellin gene Indz66; Operational research of tuberculosis in isolated islands of Indonesia. He develops the simple diagnostic tools for typhoid fever; chemoprophylaxis of leprosy and new flagellin gene Indz66 of S Typhi. He former Head Department of Microbiology, Hasanuddin University; member editor board and peer reviewer some international journals.
