Cristina Ghiciuc, MD, PhD, Dr. Habil, is a professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, and also family doctor specialist. She is working at Faculty of Medicine, Grigore T Popa University of Iasi, Romania. Her PhD thesis was on the pharmacokinetics of antibiotics for the therapy of tuberculosis. Later on, her activity was going on within research projects, as member of teams. Thus, she took part to clinical and experimental study of drugs pharmacokinetics. She also studied the effects of active drugs in the body (biocompatibility models, study of blood changes in induced models of illness) in animals. For 15 years, until 2019, a Scientific Bilateral Agreement between the universities of Sapienza from Italy & of Iasi was kept going on by Professor Patacchioli action, expert in non-invasive methods for the study of stress hormones from saliva, especially cortisol and alpha-amylase. Thus, professor Cristina joint the team from Italy and applied these methods in studies on healthy persons or on patients with chronic diseases. Not long ago, she turned her interest to drug utilization research, antibiotic use, and medication adherence in chronic treatment. Now, she is part of the Cost Action: European Network to Advance Best practices & technoLogy on medication adherencE (ENABLE).
