Prof. Mukesh K. Gupta holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Konkuk University, South Korea. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience as a Professor of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering at Konkuk University (South Korea) and the National Institute of Technology Rourkela (India). He is currently Director at Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Hyderabad He is known for his research on animal cloning, transgenics, in vitro spermatogenesis by tissue engineering, stem cell biology, and solid surface vitrification. His work on modified solid surface vitrification is used worldwide for the cryopreservation of pig oocytes and embryos, algae, microalgae, and plant cells. He has more than 100 publications in SCI-indexed journals and 18 patents to his credit. He is a Subject Expert in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the National Testing Agency (NTA) of India He is an Executive Member of the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE), HERITAGE Network (France), and Editorial Board Member of a few SCI-indexed Journals. Dr. Gupta's current research focus on stem cell-based transgenic animal production, xenotransplantation and regulatory pre-clinical research He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (UK), National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS, India), National Academy of Dairy Sciences (NADS, India), National Academy of Biological Sciences (NABS, India), National Academy of Environmental Sciences (NAES, India), Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Research (IAAVR), Academy of Environment and Life Sciences (AELS) and Society of Applied Biotechnology (SAB). He is recognized as an Outstanding Professor of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) of CSIR. He is a Board Member of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), Govt. of India.
