Katiucia BS Paiva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo (Brazil). She obtained her degree in Biological Sciences at the State University of São Paulo (UNESP - 1999/2002), PhD in Functional and Molecular Biology (emphasis: Biochemistry) in the Institute of Biology, State University of Campinas (Professor José Mauro Granjeiro - advisor) (2003/2007) with doctorate stage in the Laboratoire de Régéneration et Développment de Tissus Dentaires, Faculté d´Odontologie , Université Claude Bernard – Lyon 1 (Professor Henry Magloire - Advisor) (2005/2006), FAPESP postdoctoral fellow in Oral Pathology (emphasis: Molecular Biology) in the School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo (Professor Fabio Daumas Nunes - supervisor)(2007/2010); FAPESP Young Scientist fellow in Molecular Biology in the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo (2011/2014); and FAPESP Reserah Abroad Fellowship in Biochemistry in the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, NDORMS, University of Oxford (UK) (Professor Yoshifumi Itoh - supervisor) (2018-2019) . Her current research focuses in understanding how microenvironment acts on mesenchymal stem cell biology (stemness and differentiation), cell-cell interactions (3D model - spheroids), cell-Extracellular matrix or cell-biomaterial interfaces, and development of biomaterials/bioinks for potential application on Bone Bioengineering.
