Professor Zhang's research focuses on the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, applying stem cells, biomaterials (silk/collagen), and inducing factors (small biomolecules/physical stimulation, etc.) for the repair and regeneration of collagen-rich tissues including cartilage, skin, and cornea. Professor Zhang's research work has been published in the leading journals including Biomaterials, Bone Research, Bioactive Materials, Advanced Healthcare Materials, Chemical Engineering Journal, etc.
