Biopsy revealed mild glomerular mesangium and stromal hyperplasia, focal segmental sclerosis, diffuse globular thickening of the basement membrane, diffuse segmental pegging, and unremarkable intracapillary hyperplasia. Mild tubular atrophy, extensive oedema, and unremarkable interstitial and vascular lesions were also present.
