Abstract
BACKGROUND Ischemic stroke (IS) is a widely recognized disease characterized by high prevalence, mortality, morbidity, disability, and recurrence rates. It ranks prominently in terms of mortality, constituting 60%-80% of stroke cases. AIM To explore the impact of comprehensive nursing care on the quality of life and swallowing function in individuals diagnosed with IS. METHODS This study comprised 172 patients with IS admitted to our hospital between February 2018 to March 2021. The participants were divided into two groups, namely the control group (n = 80) receiving routine care and the research group (n = 92) receiving comprehensive care. Various assessment scales, including the standard swallowing function assessment scale (SSA), National Institutes of Health Stroke scale (NIHSS), European stroke scale (ESS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), Barthel index (BI), and the motor function assessment scale (MAS), were employed to evaluate the improvement in swallowing function, neurological deficits, clinical outcomes, anxiety, depression, daily living activities, and motor function before and after care. Furthermore, the study compared the occurrence of adverse reactions during the nursing period, life quality before and after the intervention, rehabilitation compliance, and nursing satisfaction between the two groups. RESULTS After the nursing intervention, the research group exhibited significantly improved SSA and NIHSS scores compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Moreover, both groups demonstrated significant reductions in SAS and SDS scores (P < 0.05), with the research group showing more obvious advantages (P < 0.05). Compared to the control group, the research group displayed significantly better ESS, BI, and MAS scores (P < 0.05), coupled with a lower incidence of adverse reactions (P < 0.05). Additionally, the research group demonstrated markedly higher levels of life quality, rehabilitation compliance, and nursing satisfaction compared to the control group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Comprehensive nursing effectively improved swallowing function, quality of life, and patient satisfaction, highlighting its clinical significance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Depression, anxiety, and stress are among the most common mental health disorders of the elderly that affect the health of individuals and society. Considering the growing trend of the elderly population in Iran, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of these disorders and to identify the factors affecting them in the elderly. METHODS We conducted this cross-sectional study using cluster random sampling on 301 elderly people referred to Qazvin health centers. Data was collected using the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21) questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and multivariate linear regression tests with the interaction between variables in STATA Version 14 software. A P-value of less than 0.05 was significant. RESULTS The prevalence of depression was 45.5%, anxiety 35.5%, and stress 40.2%. Our findings showed that 22.9%, 7.9%, and 14.3% of people had severe and very severe levels of depression, anxiety, and stress. The variables of age, comorbidity, living status and job status had a significant relationship with the DASS score (p < 0.05). There was an interaction between the variables of comorbidity and income status influencing the DASS score (β = 0.68, 95% CI 0.15, 1.22). CONCLUSION The prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress in the elderly was high, indicating the inappropriate status of their mental health. Therefore, it is necessary to take operational steps to reduce some problems in the elderly, prioritize the elderly suffering from concurrent diseases, the unemployed elderly, those who do not have a certain income, and the elderly who live alone.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Improving healthcare for people with multiple chronic or ongoing conditions is receiving increased attention, particularly due to the growing number of people experiencing multimorbidity (MM) and concerns about the sustainability of the healthcare system. Primary care has been promoted as an important resource for supporting people with MM to live well with their conditions and to prevent unnecessary use of health care services. However, traditional primary care has been criticized for not centring the needs and preferences of people with MM themselves. Our aim was to conduct a review that centred on the perspective of people with MM in multiple ways, including having patient partners co-lead the design, conduct and reporting of findings, and focusing on literature that reported the perspective of people with MM, irrespective of it being experimental or nonexperimental. METHODS We searched for published literature in CINAHL with Full Text (EBSCOhost) and MEDLINE All (Ovid). Findings from experimental and nonexperimental studies were integrated into collaboration with patient partners. RESULTS Twenty-nine articles were included in the review. Findings are described in five categories: (1) Care that is tailored to my unique situation; (2) meaningful inclusion in the team; (3) a healthcare team that is ready and able to address my complex needs; (4) supportive relationships and (5) access when and where I need it. CONCLUSION This review supports a reorientation of primary care systems to better reflect the experiences and perspectives of people with MM. This can be accomplished by involving patient partners in the design and evaluation of primary care services and incentivizing collaboration among health and social supports and services for people with MM. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION Patient partners were involved in the design and conduct of this review, and in the preparation of the manuscript. Their involvement is further elucidated in the manuscript text.

Abstract
Introduction: Multimorbidity has become a key issue in the health care sector globally, and it can also lead to psychological distress in older adults. This study aimed to assess the impact of multimorbidity on depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms and identify whether there is a sex difference in these associations. Methods: A cross-sectional study using a multistage random sampling method was conducted among 3,266 older adults in China. Multiple linear regression models were used to estimate the independent associations between multimorbidity and depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms. Furthermore, interaction analysis was employed to investigate the interaction effect of multimorbidity and sex on depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms. Results: A total of 3,250 participants aged 60 years and older were included in this study. Our findings suggest that multimorbidity is strongly positively associated with depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms. In addition, the positive relations between multimorbidity and depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms are stronger for older female than male adults. Conclusion: Old adults with multimorbidity are more likely have depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms. This study offers new insight for the mental health from the perspective of multimorbidity among older people, implies that encouraging the accessibility of treatment for multimorbidity in older people with different sex may be effective in promoting mental health in China.
