Editorial Board
My name is Subho Chakrabarti. My academic degrees are MD (Psychiatry) and FRCPsych (Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK). I am currently Professor of psychiatry at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India I have teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities in my current position. Teaching activities include providing theoretical and clinical training to trainees undergoing MD (psychiatry) at the department. Research activities include supervising the thesis/dissertations of MD or PhD trainees, carrying out funded & non-funded research projects, and publishing my research. I have supervised over 50 such thesis/dissertations. My areas of interest and research contributions are in the areas of adult psychiatry, mood disorders (primarily bipolar disorder), family-caregiving, liaison psychiatry, ECT, digital psychiatry, treatment-adherence, and psychosocial treatments. Balancing the demands of a very heavy clinical caseload (about 4500 patients annually) while conducting research and training is the unique attribute of what I do. I have over 450 publications in national and international journals. My articles have been cited 9803 times. My H-index is 48 and i10 index is 191. My most cited article has 755 citations. My professional associations include the Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, U.K., Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India), Fellow of the International Society for Affective Disorders, Life Fellow of the Indian Psychiatric Society, Life Fellow of the Indian Psychiatric Society – North Zone, Member of the South-Asian Overseas Group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, U.K., and Member of the Indian Association of Social Psychiatry. I have reviewed over 200 manuscripts submitted to international journals. My current editorial board positions include The World Journal of Psychiatry, Depression and Anxiety (Academic editor), The Indian Journal of Social Psychiatry, The Journal of Geriatric Mental Health, The Journal of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, The Archives of Medical and Clinical Psychology, Current Research in Psychiatry, Exploration of Digital Health Technologies, Guest Associate Editor, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, and Guest Advisor, Patient Preference and Adherence. In the past, I have had editorial positions in the The World Journal of Meta-analysis 2013-2018, The International Scholarly Research Notices 2011-2018, The Archives of Depression and Anxiety 2015-2019, The American Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience 2020-2021, and The American Journal of Brain Disorders and Tumours 2017-2019. I have over 40 international presentations. My primary area of research is mood disorders in adults. I am also conducting research in digital psychiatric services for low-and-middle-income countries. I am focusing on developing psychosocial interventions that can be delivered digitally. I aim to continue with these activities. My primary area of expertise is as a clinician treating adults with psychiatric disorders. This involves skills in delivering both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment. I have also developed mentoring skills over the 27 years I have spent as academic faculty. I enjoy reading.
