Abstract
BACKGROUND Workplace violence in health care has gained attention with its rising incidence and its impact on patient safety and clinician well-being. Legal and regulatory organizational requirements related to workplace violence are broadening, including updated Joint Commission standards. Although workplace violence surveys have been administered across health care settings, the few that have focused on the perioperative environment have predominantly been single-profession surveys. METHODS This cross-sectional, prospective survey focused on perioperative care was conducted by the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation using simultaneous convenience sampling across professional societies representing anesthesiologist assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists, physicians, and registered nurses. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize responses, and multivariable regression was used to model the odds of experiencing or witnessing physical or nonphysical workplace violence. Open-text entries were analyzed using thematic analysis. RESULTS Of 4,662 survey respondents, 3,645 (78.2%) reported some form of workplace violence: 1,446 (31.0%) experienced physical workplace violence, 1,718 (36.9%) witnessed physical workplace violence, and 3,226 (69.2%) experienced nonphysical workplace violence. Fewer than half (49.8%) of the respondents experiencing physical workplace violence and fewer than one third (31.4%) of the respondents experiencing nonphysical workplace violence felt that the "situation was addressed and resolved to their satisfaction." CONCLUSION Workplace violence is commonplace and reported by all perioperative professionals. There is a pressing need for actions at multiple levels to respond to and eventually eliminate perioperative workplace violence, preventing harm to both patients and staff.

Abstract
AIM Many people see nursing as a high-pressure, high-risk profession. Therefore, job burnout among nursing staff has become an important topic of study and has received widespread attention worldwide. This research intended to evaluate the frequency of and variables related with work burnout among nurses in public hospitals in China. DESIGN Using a multistage random sample procedure, a cross-sectional survey was carried out in the eastern, central and western areas of China. METHODS The Maslach Inventory-Human Service Survey and demographic information made up the two sections of the questionnaire. Of the 5250 questionnaires sent, 4865 were deemed legitimate, yielding an effective response rate of 92.67%. A linear regression analysis was performed to investigate the variables linked to nursing work burnout. RESULTS Among the 4865 nurses, women accounted for 97.4% of the survey respondents, most of whom were aged 26-35 years. Results showed that the total scores of emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and reduced personal accomplishment (PA) were 20.02 ± 12.04, 4.78 ± 5.54 and 34.42 ± 10.32 respectively. 50.7% of subjects obtained high or moderated scores on EE, 32.8% of subjects obtained high or moderated scores on DP and 80.4% of subjects obtained low or moderated scores on PA. Age, department, position, post-establishment, work shift type in recent months, overtime times in recent months and night shift frequency in recent months were negatively correlated with EE, and child status, monthly income, working days per week and sleep quality in recent 1 month were positively correlated with it (F = 141.827, P < 0.01, R2 = 0.243). Age, gender, department, post-establishment, overtime hours in recent months and night shift frequency in recent months were negatively correlated with DP, and child status and sleep quality in the last 1 month were positively correlated with it (F = 78.794, p < 0.01, R2 = 0.115). Child status, years of nursing work and sleep quality in the last 1 month were negatively correlated with PA, whereas age, position, work shift type in recent months and night shift frequency in recent months were positively correlated with it (F = 67.981, p < 0.01, R2 = 0.089).

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In the aftermath of earthquakes, the availability of emergency units and operating rooms (OR) in hospitals can make a difference in the survival of those injured. OR professionals' experience during earthquakes is vital for ensuring safe and effective surgical procedures. This study was conducted to explore perceptions and describe the experiences of OR professionals, aiming to improve OR processes during and after earthquakes. METHODS This phenomenological study employed semi-structured interviews to collect qualitative data from 16 OR professionals who experienced the earthquake. Purposeful sampling was utilized for face-to-face interviews, and MAXQDA20 was used for content analysis. RESULTS The primary themes included workplace perspectives, during-earthquake experiences, ethical considerations, and post-earthquake experiences. The workplace was described as unique, dynamic, stressful, and disciplined. Participants experienced fear and panic during the earthquake. Abandoning patients was deemed unethical, resulting in ethical quandaries for professionals when their safety was at risk. CONCLUSION Participants displayed responsibility and ethical conduct while remaining with the patients during the tremor. Implementing practices is crucial in mitigating fear and chaos and improving information management. As such, it is highly recommended that hospital disaster plans incorporate the active participation of OR professionals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A clean operating room is an important part of surgical and critical treatment in hospitals. The workload is substantial, the pace is rapid, and the working environment is intense; therefore, nurses who work in clean operating rooms are constantly challenged, which can lead to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Life satisfaction and resilience are important factors that ensure mental health. Therefore, exploring the mediating role of life satisfaction in the influence of resilience on depression among nurses in clean operating rooms can help improve nursing services and teamwork. AIM To explore the mediating effect of satisfaction on the influence of resilience on depression among nurses in a clean operating department. METHODS From April to November 2022, 196 nurses from the Department of Clean Operating at Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital participated in this study. Participants were selected using convenience sampling. Participants' gender, age, marital status, position, length of service, personal monthly income, daily working hours, employment status, and professional title were collected, and the Connor-Davidson resilience scale, satisfaction with life scale, and self-rating depression scale were used to evaluate resilience, life satisfaction, and depression. The researchers conducted professional training in advance, introduced the research methods to the participants before the investigation, and explained the study's significance and purpose. Surveys were distributed and collected on-site. Each questionnaire took 30 min to complete. RESULTS The average scores for life satisfaction, resilience, and depression were 3.13 (± 0.28), 4.09 (± 0.78), and 56.21 (± 8.70), respectively. The correlation between resilience and depression was negative (r = -0.829, P < 0.01). Life satisfaction was positively related to resilience (r = 0.855, P < 0.01) and negatively related to depression (r = -0.778, P < 0.01). The relationship between resilience and depression was partially mediated by life satisfaction. The value of the mediating effect was -6.853 (26.68% of the total effect). CONCLUSION Life satisfaction partially mediates the link between resilience and depression among nurses in clean operating departments.

Abstract
Workplace violence on health workers in the workplace causes physical and psychological problems. Negative impacts on victims of workplace violence such as physical problems, anxiety, depression, stress, and risk of death or risk of suicide. This problem needs to be addressed immediately so as not to impact post-traumatic stress disorder and reduce the work performance of health workers. The purpose of this study is to explore interventions to reduce the negative impact of workplace violence on health workers. This study used scoping review design with a descriptive approach to data analysis. The CINAHL, PubMed, and Scopus databases were used in this investigation. This study used PCC's framework (Population, Content, Context). The keywords are workplace violence, healthcare personnel, interventions, and programs were used by the authors. Search strategy used PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews. The sample are health workers, original research used a randomized control trial or quasi-experiment design, and the publication time had to be within the previous ten years (2014-2023). The JBI assessment was used to assess the quality of the article. We found 11 articles who discuss about interventions to reduce negative effects of workplace violence among health workers. This study shows that there is a decrease in psychological problems in victims of workplace violence such as anxiety, depression, and incidents of workplace violence. The range of sample in this study are 30-440 respondents. The authors discovered three different types of interventions: training programs, cognitive behavior therapy, and workplace violence programs. Interventions must focus on both the physical and psychological needs of the victims of workplace violence, psychiatric nurses and psychologists carried out interventions in a thorough manner. Interventions carried out by psychiatric nurses and psychologists can reduce the negative impact of workplace violence on health workers such as anxiety, depression and other psychological problems.

Abstract
Disruptive behavior in the healthcare context has an impact on patient care, healthcare personnel, and the health organization, and it also influences the therapeutic relationship, communication process, and adverse events. However, there is a lack of instruments that could be used for its analysis in the hospital care environment in the Spanish context. The objective of the study was to culturally adapt and perform a content validation of the tool “Nurse−Physician Relationship Survey: Impact of Disruptive Behavior on Patient Care”, to the Spanish content (Spain). An instrumental study was conducted, which included an analysis of conceptual and semantic equivalence. A panel of experts analyzed the translations, by analyzing the Content Validity Index (CVI) of the group of items in the scale through the Relevance Index (RI) and the Pertinence Index (PI). Only a single item obtained an RI value of 0.72, although with PI value of 0.81, with consensus reached for not deleting this item. The CVI of all the items was >0.80 for the mean value of the RI, as well as the PI. The instrument was adapted to the Spanish context and is adequate for evaluating the disruptive behaviors on nurse−physician relationships and its impact on patient care. However, the importance of continuing the analysis of the rest of the psychometric properties in future studies is underlined.

Abstract
Purpose Professional communication and professional values are two basic concepts in operating rooms and should be studied more closely in view of the nature of work and the high circulation of patients in operating rooms. Methods The present work is a descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The sample was 603 operating room physicians and personnel selected from the public hospitals of Shiraz. The data collection instruments were the 41-item professional communication questionnaire and the 26-item professional values scale. Results The results showed that the operating room nurses and physicians perceived the status of professional communication and professional values to be satisfactory. As for professional communication, the participants’ perception of the domains of mutual respect and trust (p ≤ 0.001), teamwork (p ≤ 0.001), ethical competence (p ≤ 0.017), and workplace conflicts (p ≤ 0.001) was significant. As for professional values, only the dimension of care (p ≤ 0.016) was perceived to be significant. Moreover, a significant positive relationship was found to exist between professional communication and professional values (p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion Considering the significance of the concept of professional communication and its connection with professional values, it is recommended that operating room personnel and physicians receive systematic education about professional communication and the harms of destructive attitudes as part of their academic education and afterwards.

Abstract
Disruptive behavior creates a dysfunctional culture that has a negative impact on work relations and influences the quality of care and safety of the patient. The objective of the present work is to provide the best methodological quality scientific evidence available on disruptive behavior at a hospital, the aspect associated with the safety of the patient, and its impact on quality of care. For this, we included studies that addressed the prevalence of disruptive behaviors observed in the area of hospital health and its professionals. The selection, eligibility, data extraction and evaluation of the risk of bias stages were conducted by two researchers, and any discrepancies were solved by a third researcher. The data presented show that disruptive behaviors are frequently observed in the daily life of health professionals, and compromise the quality of care, the safety of the patient, and can lead to adverse effects. The results presented indicate that the appearance of disruptive behaviors compromises the quality of care, the safety of the patient, and the appearance of adverse effects, and can also affect the physical and mental health of the health professionals.
