Hepatic arterial infusion pump placement involves surgically inserting a catheter into the gastroduodenal artery, to deliver chemotherapy directly to the liver. The pump is usually implanted subcutaneously in the abdominal wall, and the catheter is secured to minimize dislodgement, ensuring continuous delivery of chemotherapy to liver metastases.
