Dr. Spiliopoulos is an Assistant Professor in Interventional Radiology, in the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Having received his MD degree from Torino School of Medicine, Italy in 2002, Dr Spiliopoulos undertook his postgraduate training at Patras University Hospital, Rion, Greece (where he also obtained his PhD degree in 2011) and at Guy’s and St’ Thomas’ Hospitals, London, Uk. He has been a Consultant Intervetional Radiologist at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital, Aberdeen, UK and Nobles Hospital, Isle of Man, UK. In 2016 he became an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology and is currently working as an Interventional Radiologist at the 2nd Radiology Department, Attikon University General Hospital, Athens, Greece.  His main ongoing research interests are endovascular management of peripheral arterial disease (drug-elution, antiplatelet therapy, metabolic assessment of ischemic tissue), endovascular procedures for dialysis vascular access and loco-regional treatments of solid organ malignancies (hepatocellular carcinoma, liver metastasis, renal malignancies). He is a reviewer of over 15 scientific journals, and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. He has also published 15 book chapters and has given over 100 lectures in National and International Congresses. Dr. Spiliopoulos teaches Radiology and Interventional Radiology in undergraduate and post-graduate students. He is supervising and teaching Interventional Radiology procedures in National, European and overseas, Clinical Fellows and Specialist registrars and is a Hands-on Instructor in vascular and non–vascular interventions training courses. Dr. Spiliopoulos is organizing various clinical and experimental investigational protocols and is participating in several multicenter, European and Global studies.
