Dr. Luo is an assistant professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Research Institute of Blood Lipid and Atherosclerosis, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. I received a Bachelor of Medicine degree (Equivalency to Doctor of Medicine) from Hunan Normal University in 2014, a Master of Medicine degree from Central South University, where I finished my clinical training and served as resident in internal medicine at the Second Xiangya Hospital. After that, I participated in a joint PhD program in Hobbs-Cohen Laboratory in department of Molecular Genetics, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center from 2018 to 2020, and got a PhD from Central South University in 2020. After completing one-year's Postdoctoral researcher training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, United States. I joined the Second Xiangya Hospital as a cardiologist and started my laboratory in 2021 as a principal investigator in Central South University. I am Associate Editor of Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, a member of various editorial boards and a reviewer of several scientific journals, and has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles. Research in my lab focuses on how dysregulation of lipid metabolism contributes to human diseases. We aim to identify novel therapeutic strategies to treat dyslipidemia-related diseases including Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Cardiovascular Diseases.
