Dr. Anshuman Darbari is currently Additional Professor and Head of the CTVS Department, All India Institute of Medical science (AIIMS) Rishikesh and native of Uttarakhand state. I have accomplished all medical education degrees M.B.B.S., M.S. and M.Ch.(CTVS) from reputed King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, India. I have been accredited by various academic fellowships, and notables are FACS by American College of Surgeons, FIACTS by Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and FIMSA by International Medical science academy. After these, accomplished MBA (Hospital management), and full time practicing from 2007 in Cardiothoracic Surgical field. In medical research field, I have 90+ high quality medical research publications with H- index of 13 and nearly 350 citations. I also have two copyrights and one patent in India. I am devotedly involved in the editorial board of four internationally reputed journals and acclaimed as an “Outstanding Editorial Board member” by Word Journal of Cardiology in 2022 and “Outstanding Reviewer” by Frontier Publications in 2023. I have contributed as reviewer for more than 100 manuscripts in 20 journals. Since 2011, I am serving in my native state, despite better financial opportunities outside, and joined AIIMS Rishikesh in November 2012, a newly established central government, public Institute, integrating the vision to develop a specialist heart and lung surgery center in this hilly, and medically underdeveloped region. In the last twelve years, have initiated and worked collaboratively to establish the fully functional Heart and Lung surgery department. On the international level, my work progress has also been accepted and recognized in the building capability and leadership category in International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, Australasia 2021 by BMJ group. For exemplary work in clinical field, I have been awarded K.N. Dastur memorial award by IACTS for this noteworthy contribution in 2021, and Mahatma award by Aditya Birla group with Eternal Gandhi initiative in October 2022 for outstanding humanitarian efforts in social work, social responsibility, and business sustainability. I am Indian national record holder for removal of “Largest thoracic tumor" by Limca Book of Records 2024. My areas of interest and expertise include various domains of heart and lung surgery, Coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valves surgery, thoracic surgery with hospital administration and management.
