My name is Grzegorz K. Jakubiak. I am a medical doctor (2017) and a doctor of philosophy (medical sciences, 2022). I work at the Department of Pharmacology in Zabrze, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. My main areas of scientific interest include cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic diseases (metabolic syndrome and its components), oxidative stress, cardio-oncology, and frailty syndrome issues. My scientific achievements include 51 full-text publications (articles in journals and chapters in scientific monographs) and 79 national and international conference abstracts. I was the first author of most of the published works. According to Google Scholar, my publications have been cited 477 times, and my H index is 9. Current as of August 1, 2024. I have also prepared over three hundred and fifty reviews of scientific articles processed for publication in dozens of journals. I am the Guest Editor of a special issue of the Journal of Personalized Medicine entitled "Cardiology and Vascular Health: Pathophysiology, Therapeutics, and Epidemiology," in which several articles have been published. My particular interests include tools designed to assess subclinical cardiovascular dysfunction (ankle-brachial index, toe-brachial index, intima-media thickness, assessment of vascular stiffness using pulse wave velocity measurement, or evaluation of endothelial function using the flow-mediated dilation method) and their use in various clinical contexts and pathophysiological research. In addition to my scientific work, I am also a professionally active physician in internal medicine. In my daily medical work, I perform ultrasound examinations (echocardiography, peripheral vascular ultrasound, thyroid, and abdominal ultrasound). I also use the above-mentioned methods, along with the assessment of vascular stiffness and peripheral circulation, in my scientific work. I am interested in philosophy, learning foreign languages, and traveling.
