Andrea Sebastiano Cavallaro (MD, PhD). General Surgery Researcher and Assistant Professor at the University of Catania. General surgery residency in 2006, PhD in surgical pathophysiology in 2009. Research fellow in 2009. Contract professor in general surgery between 2010 and 2014. Teaching assistant since 2023. Since 2008 Consultant Surgeon in General Surgery and Oncological Surgery. Since 2019 involved in a program of Emergency Surgery. Good level of experience, practice and autonomy as first surgeon in the management of surgical urgencies and emergencies. General Surgery Researcher and Assistant Professor at the University of Catania since April 2024. I have published about 100 articles, several of which with prominent position in the authors order (first author, second author, last author or corresponding author). H index 20 (scopus). Number of citations: 1367. I'm member of Italian Surgical Society (SIC). I've peer reviewed several manuscript for WJSO, Frontiers in Surgery (associate reviewer) and many other journals. My main interest is scientific research related to surgery and teaching. I'd like to reach and share an ever-increasing degree of surgical skills in hepatobiliary-pancreatic oncology pathology. I speak English enough fluently and I relate to native speakers without any particular problem. I enjoy relating and discussing with other colleagues who shares their experience in the fields of my interest. I have been a tutor of resident, doctors in training, students of the medical course and tutor of students attending paramedical degree courses. I have supervised several degree theses of graduating students. I have good skills in solving surgical problems but also clinical, administrative and health economic criticities in the contest of a surgical unit. Family, nature, sea, music, engines.
