I am currently an Adjunct Professor of Digestive Surgery at Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). After completing my medical graduation (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) and my clinical fellowship in surgical oncology at AC Camargo Cancer Center in São Paulo - SP, Brazil, I worked as a research fellow for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Hepatopancreatobiliary Service in New York from 2010 to 2012 (USA). I worked on clinical research projects for the surgical and systemic therapy of colorectal liver metastases and pancreatic cancer. After that, I worked as a resident of the Hepatopancreatobiliary Service at the Hospital Paul Brousse in France (from 2012 to 2013), caring for patients with liver and pancreas disorders, such as those with colorectal liver metastases, primary liver, and pancreas cancers, and those in need of liver transplants. I received both my Ph.D. and Post-doctoral degrees in Gastroenterology from the Universidade de São Paulo (in 2015 and 2017, respectively). Then, I moved to Barretos, SP, Brazil, in 2015, where I became the head of the department of upper GI and HPB surgery at the Barretos Cancer Hospital, and I edited the global scale book "Methods and biostatistics in oncology: understanding clinical research as an applied tool" (Araujo & Riechelmann - Springer). I came back to So Paulo - SP in 2018 for my current position working as a clinical researcher, HPB and Upper GI surgeon (open and minimally invasive approaches), educator, and mentor in the postgraduation program at my department at this university.
