Dr Waisberg is a prominent young digestive surgeon, with a special focus on hepatobiliopancreatic surgery and abdominal organ transplantation. He has an extensive scientific production, standing out both in the clinical area and in experimental surgery. He currently works at two public academic institutions, contributing to the training of new digestive system and organ transplant surgeons. Since graduating in Medicine, he has sought to get involved in scientific research, being awarded the best CV in the area of surgery in his graduating class. Dr Waisberg firmly believes that by being an academic surgeon and through translational research he can contribute more significantly to improving patient care. Furthermore, constant contact with undergraduate students and residents encourages him to never settle and always seek new solutions to the challenges of modern medicine. He is a member of the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery (CBCD), Brazilian College of Hepatobiliopancreatic Surgery (CBCHBP) and the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplantation (ABTO). He has recently received in 2024 the Young Surgeon Award from the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery for his contributions to the field. Dr Waisberg is a frequent contributor to the international scientific community, having carried out 70 peer review records for 61 manuscripts. He is also an Associated Editor of Frontiers in Oncology. Dr Waisberg's long-term professional goal is to contribute to the improvement of patient care, especially in the area of abdominal organ transplantation. Furthermore, I have a special interest in the development of new surgical techniques within this area. I stand out in my ability to reconcile conflicts within team members and be a patient and calm person, seeking to extract their best characteristics from each person to achieve the group's primary objectives. I always try to listen to both sides in case of conflicts to try to reach an agreement that can benefit our common goals.
