Dr. Bencini is a Distinguished Senior Staff Surgeon in the Careggi Main Regional and University Hospital, Florence, Italy. Having received his MD degree from Florencel University in 19996, Dr. Bencini undertook his postgraduate training at the Florence Medical University Hospital and has been an Attending Physician in the Surgical Oncology Division, Department of Oncology, since 2006. Dr. Bencini obtained his PhD degree in 2012 in the field of Clinical Oncology. He is currently involved in the supervision of of surgical residents, trainees, and medical students, both during elective surgery and emergencies. His ongoing research interests are minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and robotics) applied to the field of surgical oncology. He is into pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery and oncology. He is a member of the editorial boards and a reviewer of several scientific journals, and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles.
