Dr. Xin-Zu Chen, PhD, MD, is the president of Ya'an People's Hospital - West China Ya'an Hospital, Sichuan University, Ya'an, China, and the professor of Gastric Cancer Center, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. The major research fields include gastrointestinal surgery, gastric oncology, cancer prevention and screening, as well as oncologic epidemiology. In particular, the Sichuan Gastric Cancer Early Detection and Screening (SIGES) Research Group is directed in order to increase the population proportion of early gastric cancer and improve the population survival of gastric cancer in China. Up to Sept 2024, Dr. Chen published more than 60 papers as a first, co-first or correspondence author, with H-index=28. Additionally, Dr. Chen is the vice-chairman of the Surgery Group of Evidence-based Medicine Committee, Chinese Doctor Association, as well as several other academic positions in national academic associatons. Dr. Chen was invited by various academic journals to perform peer-review with great pleasure and interests, particularly in the fields of oncologic epidemiology and public health. By now, Dr. Chen is the director of Ya'an Cancer Prevention and Control Center, Ya'an, China. In the future, Dr. Chen would like to engage in the improvement of cancer control in China, especially at the subnational level. The speciality is gastric cancer surgery, and research in aspects of oncologic epidemiology, clinical trial and evidence-based medicine.
