Andreia Albuquerque, MD PhD, Consultant Gastroenterologist, Professor, Department of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. My main areas of differentiation are Early Detection and Anal Cancer Prevention (anal HPV), Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and Neurogastroenterology. My PhD and most of my research has been focusing on HPV-associated anal precancerous lesions, with several international collaborations. I currently have 82 publications (57 publications as first author), including as first author of papers published in The Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis, The American Journal of Gastroenterology, Clinical Infectious Diseases, British Journal of Cancer and the International Journal of Cancer. H-Index: 21, i-10 index: 29, total citations: 1824. I have been an invited speaker, moderator and chair in several international meetings (IANS, IPVS, UEG). I have organized two Symposiums and one online workshop for the International Papillomavirus Society. I have served as a Board Member of the International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS) and was a co-chair for the IANS Spanish-Portuguese Task Force. I am currently a Full Board member of the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), a member of the IPVS Education Committee and chair of the IPVS Social Media Committee. AWARDS - Third position of the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease Edward J. Wilkinson Best Paper Award in 2023. - United European Gastroenterology 2017 travel grant award to attend the UEG week in Barcelona. - Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Foundation (JGHF) 2013 travel grant to attend the World Congress of Gastroenterology in Shanghai, China. I have peer-reviewed more than 100 papers and have written 3 editorials for academic journals. Continue to conduct research on HPV-associated anal precancerous lesions with several international collaborations. I am currently doing a Post graduation Course on Health Management to to solidified my leadership and management skills. I have strong communication and networking skills.
