Professor Shi is a doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. He received a bachelor's degree in clinical medicine from Nanjing Medical University. Since then, he continued to study internal medicine and received a master's degree from Suzhou University in 2004. In order to pursue a higher academic level, he received his MD Degree from Naval Medical University. His research focused on the molecular mechanism and intervention of chronic liver disease and digestive tract tumorigenesis, and developed cell vesicle-based drug carriers and anti-tumor therapy platforms. As a major applicant and collaborator, he has participated in more than 10 scientific research projects, including 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles as the first author or correspondent author. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and the Administrative Director of the Department of Gastroenterology in Tongren Hospital affiliated to the Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University. He is also a member of the Special Committee of Bio-based Materials of the Chinese Society of Biological Engineering, a member of the Digestive Society of Shanghai Rehabilitation Medical Association, and a young member of the liver Diseases Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. He won the third prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award and the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
