Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt, with the Highest Honors. She obtained her MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Basic Medical Sciences in Pathology from the same university. She is a Professor of Pathology and Consultant Anatomic Pathologist at the Clinical Sciences Department, College of Medicine, University of Sharjah, UAE, and a Professor and Consultant Histopathologist at the Pathology, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. She is the coordinator of the Immuno-Oncology Research Group at the Sharjah Institute for Medical Research, University of Sharjah, UAE. She is a member of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA), a board member (Cultural Committee Chairperson) of the Emirates Pathology Society (EPS), and a member of the American Association of Investigative Pathology (ASIP) and the European Association of Cancer Research (EACR). Throughout her career, she studied the molecular characteristics of tumor initiation and progression. Her cancer research focuses on investigating molecular biomarkers and deciphering the pathways in solid tumors, e.g., breast cancer, colorectal cancer, renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer, and other solid tumors. She has also studied the role of HPV in cervical and laryngeal carcinogenesis. In addition, she is interested in immune-mediated glomerular diseases. She is an Associate Editor and Review Editor in the Pathology section of Frontiers in Medicine and in the Breast Cancer section of Frontiers in Oncology. She was awarded several grants and published over 65 articles in high-impact factor, peer-reviewed journals.
