Dr. Hanlin L Wang is a Professor of Pathology, Chief of Gastrointestinal Pathology Services and Director of the Klaus Lewin GI and Liver Pathology Fellowship Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine and Ronald Reagan Medical Center of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He received his medical degree from Wuhan University School of Medicine in China and PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Clinic. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowship in GI and Liver Pathology at the University of Chicago. He started his career as an academic pathologist at Washington University in St. Louis as an Assistant Professor in 2001 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006. He then moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as Director of GI and Liver Pathology and Director of the GI and Liver Pathology Fellowship Program in 2007. He joined UCLA as a Professor of Pathology in 2011. Dr. Wang has broad clinical and scientific interests in medical and neoplastic GI, liver and pancreatobiliary diseases. He has authored >230 research articles, reviews and book chapters. He is a co-editor of two textbooks Pathology of Solid Organ Transplantation (2011) and Practical Gastrointestinal Pathology: Frequently Asked Questions (2021), and is one of the main contributors to the textbook Diagnostic Pathology: Hepatobiliary and Pancreas (1-3 editions).
