Abstract
BACKGROUND In recent years, the increase of the post-transplantation diabetes mellitus (PTDM) after renal transplantation encourages people to do a lot of research on the disease. This paper conducted a bibliometric study on PTDM related literature to explore the risk factors of diabetes after kidney transplantation, as well as the current status, hotspots and development trends of PTDM research, so as to provide reference for researchers in related fields. METHODS We searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for PTDM literature from January 1, 1990, to August 20, 2023, and used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package 'bibliometrix' to do bibliometric analysis. RESULTS Obesity, 3 months after transplantation tacrolimus concentration >10 ng/mL, temporary hyperglycemia, delayed graft function, acute rejection is specific risk factors related to PTDM in renal transplant recipients. In addition, 74 countries led by China and the United States published 1546 papers, and the number of PTDM-related publications is increasing every year. Primary institutions included the University of California, Los Angeles, Mayo Clinic, University of Oslo, and University of Toronto. The Journal of Transplantation is the most widely read journal in the subject. The authors with the most published literature are Trond Jenssen and Adnan Sharif, and the most cited author is Kasiske BL. Expectations for continued growth in global PTDM research are increasingly high. Future studies will mainly focus on exploring the risk factors of PTDM and identifying new therapeutic approaches and targets.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Advances in medical care have made cancer rehabilitation an essential component of comprehensive cancer treatment. However, bibliometric analyses in this field remain limited. This study maps the global research landscape of cancer rehabilitation over the past decade. METHODS Relevant publications on cancer rehabilitation from 2013 to 2023 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "Bibliometrics." RESULTS A total of 6743 publications from 98 countries demonstrated sustained growth, peaking in 2022. The USA (1581 publications) and China (974) led in research output, while the Netherlands recorded the highest citation impact (32.75 citations per paper). Key institutions included the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (148 publications) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (40.58 citations per paper). Supportive Care in Cancer ranked as the most influential journal. Research efforts primarily focused on exercise interventions (n = 404), quality of life (n = 688), and breast cancer rehabilitation (n = 440). Recent trends highlighted telemedicine, digital health, and breast cancer-related lymphedema. CONCLUSION This analysis highlights the dominance of high-income countries in cancer rehabilitation research and identifies exercise, quality of life, and breast cancer as enduring focal points. Emerging priorities include technology-driven interventions and lymphedema management. However, critical gaps remain, such as the underrepresentation of low-resource regions, limited focus on pediatric populations, and insufficient integration of advanced technologies (e.g., AI, wearables). Future efforts should emphasize equitable resource distribution, evidence-based pediatric rehabilitation models, and scalable technology-driven solutions to address global disparities and improve survivorship care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Through bibliometric analysis, this paper summarizes the growing literature and analyses the development trends and hot spots in the research field of the association between intravenous anesthesia and tumors. METHODS A literature overview was conducted using relevant articles retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection published between 1991 and 2024. Bibliometric websites and tools (VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and bibliometric R package) are used to analyze the co-occurrence of keywords and reference citations, detailing countries, institutions, authors, references, journals, and keywords. RESULTS A total of 1198 relevant articles were included in the study. The USA, China, and Germany have the largest number of publications, with the USA and China having the most interagency cooperation and Germany relatively less cooperation. The institution that publishes the most articles is the University of National Defense Medical Center, and the journal that publishes the most articles is Anesthesiology. The five most productive authors are Li J., Liu J., Zhang B., Yu X.J., and Xu J. "Surgery", "anaesthesia", and "propofol" are the most common keywords. In recent years, research has focused mainly on intravenous anesthesia and tumor survival. CONCLUSION Both Western countries and China have made outstanding contributions to intravenous anesthesia and tumors. In recent years, the number of publications in China has steadily increased, and the quality and influence of these articles deserve recognition. Future research should focus on the key areas of intravenous anesthesia, tumor recurrence, and survival.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, can lead to a range of physical symptoms and mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, and depression. These effects are particularly pronounced in hospitalized patients, likely due to the virus's direct and indirect impact on the nervous system. Gut dysbiosis, an imbalance in the gut microbiome, has been implicated in immune dysfunction and chronic inflammation in COVID-19 patients. However, the interactions between gut microbiome composition and the physical and mental symptoms of COVID-19 remain incompletely understood. METHODS We investigated the association between physical and mental symptoms, cytokine profiles, and gut microbiota composition in 124 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. We collected data on demographics, COVID-19 severity, and mental health indicators (stress, anxiety, and depression). Gut microbiome profiling was performed using full-length 16 S rRNA gene sequencing to evaluate microbial diversity and composition. RESULTS COVID-19 severity was categorized as low (27.4%), moderate (29.8%), or critical (42.8%). Common symptoms included fever (66.1%) and cough (55.6%), while somatic symptoms (27.3%), anxiety (27.3%), depressive symptoms (39%), and stress (80.5%) were frequently self-reported. Elevated interleukin-6 levels in severe cases highlighted systemic inflammation, reduced gut bacterial diversity, particularly among women and obese patients, correlated with higher disease severity. Notably, the genus Mitsuokella was associated with increased physical symptoms and mental distress, while Granulicatella was linked to critical illness. CONCLUSIONS Our findings reveal significant associations between mental health status, systemic inflammation, and gut dysbiosis in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. These results indicate the potential for microbiome-targeted therapies to mitigate psychological and physical complications and improve recovery outcomes in this population.

Abstract
Background Brain metastases (BM) are the most common type of intracranial tumor and the leading cause of mortality in patients with systemic cancer. In recent years, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has been widely used in the radiotherapy of BM due to its advantages of high positional accuracy and highly conformal dose distributions. However, this area lacks a bibliometric analysis. This study aims to provide an overview of recent trends and key topics related to SRS for BM treatment over the past decade and to anticipate future directions through bibliometric methods. Methods We conducted a search in the Web of Science for publications on SRS in BM treatment from 2013 to 2023. VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "bibliometrix" were utilized to perform a bibliometric and visual analysis of online publications in this field, focusing on countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords. Results A total of 2,085 articles were identified in this study, with a steady increase observed in annual publications. The United States (USA) was the most productive country and the core of international cooperation; Mayo Clinic was the institution with the most publications and citations; Journal of Neuro-Oncology published the most papers; the most published author was Sahgal A, and Brown PD was the most co-cited author. The latest high-frequency keywords were immunotherapy, survival, prognosis, recurrence, leptomeningeal metastases, and so on. Keyword cooccurrence was used for cluster analysis, resulting in 7 clusters that highlight the emerging frontiers of SRS in BM treatment. Conclusions As medical imaging informatics technology continues to advance, research into SRS for BM treatment has become increasingly in-depth. The immunoadjuvant therapy, biological effective dose, and radionecrosis have emerged as hot topics in recent years. Future work is ongoing to develop and improve artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in SRS treatment planning, thus benefiting more BM patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE An updated summary of the research profile of nutrition for the last 30 years for decompensated cirrhosis is lacking. This study aimed to explore the literature on nutrition for decompensated cirrhosis, draw a visual network map to investigate the research trends, and provide suggestions for future research. The Web of Science database retrieves the literature on nutrition for decompensated cirrhosis between 1994 and 2024. METHODS We used the cooperative, co-occurrence, and co-citation networks in the CiteSpace knowledge graph analysis tool to explore and visualize the relevant countries, institutions, authors, co-cited journals, keywords, and co-cited references. RESULTS We identified 741 articles on nutrition for decompensated cirrhosis. The number of publications and research interests has generally increased. The USA contributed the largest number of publications and had the highest centrality. The University of London ranked first in the number of articles issued, followed by the University of Alberta and Mayo Clinic. TANDON P, a "core strength" researcher, is a central hub in the collaborative network. Of the cited journals, HEPATOLOGY had the highest output (540, 15.3%). CONCLUSIONS Over the past three decades, the focus of research on nutrition in decompensated cirrhosis has shifted from "hepatic encephalopathy, intestinal failure, metabolic syndrome, and alcoholic hepatitis" to "sarcopenia and nutritional assessment." In the future, nutritional interventions for sarcopenia should be based on a multimodal approach to address various causative factors. Its targeted treatment is an emerging area that warrants further in-depth research.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the causal relationship between microbiota, diabetic nephropathy, and blood metabolites through a randomized Mendelian study. Methods In this study, we used 412 microbiota as exposures, 1,400 blood metabolites as intermediaries, and diabetic nephropathy as the outcome. We conducted a two-way Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the causal relationship between microbiota and diabetic nephropathy, followed by mediation analyses and two-step MR to identify potential blood metabolites. Results There is a causal relationship between microbiota and diabetic nephropathy. Specific bacteria and metabolites, such as Escherichia coli str. K-12 substr. MG1655, Listeria monocytogenes 10403S, g_Adlercreutzia, g_Haemophilus, g_Bacteroides, and Escherichia coli CFT073, and metabolites like pyrraline, glycocholenate sulfate, alpha-ketoglutarate, tetradecadienoate (14:2), Cys-gly oxidized, methylsuccinate, and various others, were identified. Escherichia coli str. K-12 substr. MG1655 is positively related to alpha-ketoglutarate levels, while alpha-ketoglutarate levels and Sphingomyelin (d18:1/18:1, d18:2/18:0) are negatively related. The bacterial microbiota involved in fatty acid oxidation is associated with diabetic kidney disease (DKD) progression, positively correlated with glycocholenate sulfate levels, and negatively correlated with the phosphate linoleyl-tetraenyl-glycerol (18:2 to 20:4) ratio. Additionally, Listeria monocytogenes 10403S is positively correlated with N-acetyl-isoputreanine and negatively correlated with X-12462. Anaerobic fermentation-related bacteria were positively related to N-acetylcarnitine and 5-acetylamino-6-formyluracil and negatively correlated with 5-acetamino-6-amino-3-methyluracil (X-24243). Escherichia coli CFT073 was positively associated with X-16580. Interactions between Bacillus species and metabolites such as d18:1/18:1, d18:2/18:0, 2-aminophenol sulfate, and cholate were negative when compared to tetradecadienoate (14:2). g_Adlercreutzia is positively correlated with N-delta-acetylornithine, methylsuccinate, and N-acetyl-isoputreanine but negatively correlated with N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylgalactosamine. g_Haemophilus was positively associated with arachidoylcarnitine but negatively correlated with X-24531. The results were heterogeneous and multi-efficacious. Conclusions For the first time, MR analysis provides supportive evidence for a bidirectional causal relationship between microbiota and diabetic nephropathy and identifies specific genes associated with the disease. The results suggest that probiotic therapy may play a significant role in preventing diabetic nephropathy and improving the quality of life and survival rates of affected patients. Furthermore, this study provides additional evidence of a causal relationship between specific microbiota, diabetic nephropathy, and blood metabolites.

Abstract
Objectives Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) commonly occurs in critically ill patients and is closely associated with adverse outcomes. A comprehensive analysis of the current research landscape in SA-AKI can help uncover trends and key issues in this field. This study aims to provide a scientific basis for research directions and critical issues through bibliometric analysis. Methods We searched all articles on SA-AKI indexed in the SCI-Expanded of WoSCC up to May 7, 2024, and conducted bibliometric and visual analyses using bibliometric software CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Results Over the past 20 years, there has been a steady increase in literature related to renal repair following AKI. China and the United States contribute over 60% of the publications, driving research in this field. The University of Pittsburgh is the most active academic institution, producing the highest number of publications. J. A. Kellum is both the most prolific and the most cited author in this area. "Shock" and "American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology" are the most popular journals, publishing the highest number of articles. Recent high-frequency keywords in this field include "septic AKI," "mitochondrial dysfunction," "inflammasome," "ferroptosis," and "macrophage." The terms "mitochondrial dysfunction," "inflammasome," "ferroptosis," and "macrophage" represent current research hotspots and potential targets in this area. Conclusion This is the first comprehensive bibliometric study to summarize the trends and advancements in SA-AKI research in recent years. These findings identify current research frontiers and hot topics, providing valuable insights for scholars studying SA-AKI.

Abstract
Invertebrates form a vital component of agricultural ecosystems, and they are chief actors in sustaining the functions of the ecosystem and soil health. Scholarly publications that concentrated on visualizing the research outputs and trends on invertebrates and agriculture are scarce. In this paper, we adopted a bibliometric model to extract trends/research studies on invertebrates and agriculture between 1991 and 2022, using scholarly studies retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) databank. Therefore, the aim of the study is to assess and analyse publications and findings on research studies/trends on invertebrates and agriculture. A total of 1201 articles were recovered from the WoS databank with average citations per doc and coauthors per document ratio of 31.22 and 4.79, respectively. Studies on invertebrates and agriculture research studies were positively correlated with the number of years (R 2 = 0.7803; y = 3.4661x - 19.659) signifying an upsurge in the amount of publications on this topic in the near future. The United States maintained a top position in terms of published outputs (n = 312) and citations (n = 14,113), followed by Germany (n = 75; n = 3686) and the United Kingdom (n = 70; n = 3117), respectively. Articles from the United States (n = 67) and China (n = 32) had strong networks with other nations of the world. Top subject priorities in this research field in terms of author keywords are agriculture (n = 141), biodiversity (n = 66), arthropods (n = 66) and biological control/ecosystem services (n = 46). From our findings, economically stable nations such as the United States, Germany, China, the United Kingdom and Australia are carrying out more research on this subject matter compared to the developing countries. We also found out that from the thematic evolution and literature results, invertebrate research in the context of agriculture is tending towards biogeography, farmland biodiversity, insecticides and organic agriculture, which are of immense importance to scientists and researchers in this research domain, thus signifying the direction/path of future research.

Abstract
Background Regulatory T (Treg) cells play a strategic role in maintaining immune homeostasis and their functions are closely linked to the development of different diseases, including cancer. This study aims to investigate the evolution patterns and popular research topics of Treg cells through bibliometric analysis. Method The Web of Science Core Collection database was used to extract publications related to Treg cells, which were then subjected to bibliometric analysis and visualization through VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R software. Results Between 2003 and 2023, a total of 666 articles were published. China and the United States had the highest citation counts, with Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Tarbiat Modares University being the leading research institutions. Beckhove Philipp from the German Cancer Research Center and the National Center for Tumor Diseases in Heidelberg, and Christophe from the Cancer Research Center of Lyon, were the most prolific authors. Sakaguchi Shimon from the Immunology Frontier Research Center at Osaka University was the most cited author. "Frontiers in Immunology" published the most articles, while "Journal of Immunology" received the highest co-citations. Key terms in Treg research include immunotherapy, tumor microenvironment, prognosis, immunosuppression, and PD-L1. Among these, immunotherapy, prognosis, PD-L1, and immunosuppression have emerged as focal points of research in recent years. Conclusion With active collaboration worldwide, research on Treg cells is rapidly advancing. Focusing on Treg cells as a potential target for cancer treatment shows great promise for future research, especially in terms of practical applications. This could offer valuable direction and fresh perspectives for further exploration of Treg cells in the medical field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Patient self-management plays a pivotal role in enhancing outcomes and quality of life for individuals affected by this disease. This study employed bibliometric and visual analysis techniques utilizing CiteSpace to elucidate the current status and research hotspots in breast cancer patient self-management from January 1, 2005, to August 31, 2023. METHODS A comprehensive search was conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The retrieved literature was subjected to visualization and analysis using CiteSpace, focusing on publication timeline, article count, geographical distribution, institutional affiliations, journal sources, reference co-citation networks, and keyword analysis. RESULTS The analysis encompassed 1413 English-language documents. The United States emerged as the most prolific contributor, while the University of Toronto demonstrated the highest institutional output. The two-map overlay revealed prominent citation paths, indicating strong interconnections between publications in "Medicine, Medicine, Clinical" and "Health, Nursing, Medicine," as well as "Psychology, Education, Health" and "Health, Nursing, Medicine." The most frequently co-cited reference was "Self-Management: Enabling and Empowering Patients Living with Cancer as a Chronic Illness." High-frequency keywords identified included quality of life, chronic disease, self-management, patient education, randomized controlled trials, education, and intervention. These keywords formed 11 distinct clusters related to intervention content, methodologies, outcome indicators, and emerging research trends. Keyword burst analysis predicted future research hotspots focusing on patient needs, psychological distress, Internet technology, and mobile applications. CONCLUSIONS Research in breast cancer self-management is experiencing significant growth. Enhanced collaboration between countries, regions, and institutions is imperative. Further investigation is warranted, particularly in the domains of "quality of life," "patient education," and "mobile health." These findings provide valuable insights to guide future research directions in this critical field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is increasingly prevalent, leading to a surge in related research. To pinpoint emerging trends and recommend future directions, a bibliometric analysis of relevant CAH literature was performed. METHODS From January 1, 2000, to October 1, 2023, we searched the Web of Science Core Collection for CAH literature. For the bibliometric analysis, tools such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "bibliometrix" were employed. RESULTS The United States and England are at the forefront among 113 countries, contributing 5034 papers to CAH research. However, there is a need for more extensive global collaboration across institutions in this field. The number of publications on CAH is increasing annually. Leading research institutions include the University of Michigan, University of California, San Francisco, Karolinska Institutet, and Karolinska University Hospital. The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism is the most cited in this area. The most prolific author is Falhammar H, with 88 publications, 2568 co-citations, and a significant overall contribution. Key research areas include diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies for CAH. Emerging research hotspots are identified by keywords such as "disorders of sex development," "21-hydroxylase deficiency," "ambiguous genitalia," "testosterone" and "adrenal insufficiency." CONCLUSIONS Research on CAH is expected to expand globally. Future studies will primarily focus on exploring CAH's diagnostic aspects and developing new therapies. This paper will help scholars better understand the dynamic evolution of the CAH and point out the direction for future research.

Abstract
Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer continues to pose a significant global health challenge. Recent advances in our understanding of the complex relationship between the host and gut microbiota have shed light on the critical role of metabolic interactions in the pathogenesis and progression of GI cancer. In this study, we examined how microbiota interact with the host to influence signalling pathways that impact the formation of GI tumours. Additionally, we investigated the potential therapeutic approach of manipulating GI microbiota for use in clinical settings. Revealing the complex molecular exchanges between the host and gut microbiota facilitates a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms that drive cancer development. Metabolic interactions hold promise for the identification of microbial signatures or metabolic pathways associated with specific stages of cancer. Hence, this study provides potential strategies for the diagnosis, treatment and management of GI cancers to improve patient outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The induced membrane technique (IMT) is a two-step procedure used for reconstructing segmental bone defects in the limbs. The osteogenic mechanism after bone grafting using IMT remains unclear, and efforts to modify the original techniques are limited to the investigative phase. Therefore, reviewing existing knowledge and identifying hotspots and new trends in IMT is critical. METHODS We retrieved reviews and articles associated with IMT published between 2004 and 2023 from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The keywords included induced membrane technique, guided bone regeneration, bone defect reconstruction, bone graft, stem cells, Masquelet technique, management of bone defects, and scaffold. HistCite, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R-bibliometrics were used for scientometric analysis. RESULTS A total of 1019 publications from 374 academic journals with 33,995 co-cited references by 2,331 institutions from 65 countries or regions were included. China (n = 235) and the United States (n = 215) were the most productive countries, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University producing the most number of publications (n = 18). Journal Injury [co-citations = 1774; impact factor (IF) 2022 = 2.5] published the most manuscripts, while Masquelet AC and Giannoudis PV published literature with a significant influence on IMT, showing more co-citations (n = 727; n = 355). Two preface hotspots of IMT focused on investigating the microscopic mechanism (such as the membrane supporting graft-to-bone union and the role of inflammatory cells) and developing new techniques to improve IMT (such as bone tissue engineering and new drugs). CONCLUSION This study comprehensively reviewed the literature about IMT published in the last 20 years using qualitative and quantitative methods, providing valuable information for researchers investigating IMT.

Abstract
Background Lung cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, which seriously threatens human life and health as well as brings a heavy burden to the society. In recent years, the tumor microenvironment (TME) has become an emerging research field and hotspot affecting tumor pathogenesis and therapeutic approaches. However, to date, there has been no bibliometric analysis of lung cancer and the tumor microenvironment from 2014 to 2023.This study aims to comprehensively summarize the current situation and development trends in the field from a bibliometric perspective. Methods The publications about lung cancer and the tumor microenvironment from 2014 to 2023 were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The Microsoft Excel, Origin, R-bibliometrix, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software are comprehensively used to scientifically analyze the data. Results Totally, 763 publications were identified in this study. A rapid increase in the number of publications was observed after 2018. More than 400 organizations published these publications in 36 countries or regions. China and the United States have significant influence in this field. Zhou, CC and Frontiers in Immunology are the most productive authors and journals respectively. Besides, the most frequently cited references were those on lung cancer pathogenesis, clinical trials, and treatment modalities. It suggests that novel lung cancer treatment models mainly based on the TME components, such as cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) may lead to future research trends. Conclusions The field of lung cancer and the tumor microenvironment research is still in the beginning stages. Gene expression, molecular pathways, therapeutic modalities, and novel detection technologies in this field have been widely studied by researchers. This is the first bibliometric study to comprehensively summarize the research trend and development regarding lung cancer and tumor microenvironment over the last decade. The result of our research provides the updated perspective for scholars to understand the key information and cutting-edge hotspots in this field, as well as to identify future research directions.

BACKGROUND Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are one of the most severe and popular complications of diabetes. The persistent non-healing of DFUs is the leading cause of ampu-tation, which causes significant mental and financial stress to patients and their families. Macrophages are critical cells in wound healing and perform essential roles in all phases of wound healing. However, no studies have been carried out to systematically illustrate this area from a scientometric point of view. Although there have been some bibliometric studies on diabetes, reports focusing on the investigation of macrophages in DFUs are lacking. AIM To perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically assess the current state of research on macrophage-related DFUs. METHODS The publications of macrophage-related DFUs from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2023, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on January 9, 2024. Four different analytical tools: VOSviewer (v1.6.19), CiteSpace (v6.2.R4), HistCite (v12.03.07), and Excel 2021 were used for the scientometric research. RESULTS A total of 330 articles on macrophage-related DFUs were retrieved. The most published countries, institutions, journals, and authors in this field were China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University of China, Wound Repair and Regeneration, and Aristidis Veves. Through the analysis of keyword co-occurrence networks, historical direct citation networks, thematic maps, and trend topics maps, we synthesized the prevailing research hotspots and emerging trends in this field. CONCLUSION Our bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of macrophage-related DFUs research and insights into promising upcoming research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Liver cancer (LC) is a prevalent malignancy and a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Extensive research has been conducted to enhance patient outcomes and develop effective prevention strategies, ranging from molecular mechanisms to clinical interventions. Single-cell sequencing, as a novel bioanalysis technology, has significantly contributed to the understanding of the global cognition and dynamic changes in liver cancer. However, there is a lack of bibliometric analysis in this specific research area. Therefore, the objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and research hotspots in the field of single-cell sequencing in liver cancer research through the use of bibliometrics. METHOD Publications related to the application of single-cell sequencing technology to liver cancer research as of December 31, 2023, were searched on the web of science core collection (WoSCC) database. VOSviewers, CiteSpace, and R package "bibliometrix" were used to conduct this bibliometric analysis. RESULTS A total of 331 publications from 34 countries, primarily led by China and the United States, were included in this study. The research focuses on the application of single cell sequencing technology to liver cancer, and the number of related publications has been increasing year by year. The main research institutions involved in this field are Fudan University, Sun Yat-Sen University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Frontiers in Immunology and Nature Communications is the most popular journal in this field, while Cell is the most frequently co-cited journal. These publications are authored by 2799 individuals, with Fan Jia and Zhou Jian having the most published papers, and Llovet Jm being the most frequently co-cited author. The use of single cell sequencing to explore the immune microenvironment of liver cancer, as well as its implications in immunotherapy and chemotherapy, remains the central focus of this field. The emerging research hotspots are characterized by keywords such as 'Gene-Expression', 'Prognosis', 'Tumor Heterogeneity', 'Immunoregulation', and 'Tumor Immune Microenvironment'. CONCLUSION This is the first bibliometric study that comprehensively summarizes the research trends and developments on the application of single cell sequencing in liver cancer. The study identifies recent research frontiers and hot directions, providing a valuable reference for researchers exploring the landscape of liver cancer, understanding the composition of the immune microenvironment, and utilizing single-cell sequencing technology to guide and enhance the prognosis of liver cancer patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of research articles on the relationship between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer (CRC) using CiteSpace to summarize the current research status, hotspots, and trends in this field and present the results visually. METHOD Research articles on the relationship between IBD and CRC published from 2000 to 2023 and in English were selected from the Web of Science Core Collection (Woscc) database. The articles were downloaded as "full record and references". CiteSpace was used to conduct cooperative, cluster, co-citation, and burst analyses. RESULTS The literature search revealed 4244 articles; of which, 5 duplicates were removed, resulting in the inclusion of 4239 articles in this study. The United States of America had the highest number of publications, with Mayo Clinic and Harvard University being the most active institutions, and Bas Oldenburg being the most active author. Collaboration among core authors was inadequate. JA Eaden was the most cited author, and CRC was the most common keyword. Burst analysis indicated that Sun Yat-sen University might be one of the institutions with a large contribution to this research field in the future. Cluster analysis showed that earlier research focused more on microsatellite instability, whereas "gut microbiota" and "oxidative stress" are considered current research hotspots and trends. CONCLUSION At present, the primary focus areas of research are "gut microbiota" and "oxidative stress". With the improvement of healthcare policies and standards, regular endoscopic monitoring of patients with IBD has become an indispensable diagnostic and therapeutic practice. More drugs will be developed to reduce the risk of progression from IBD to CRC. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the relationship between IBD and CRC for researchers in the same field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Islet transplantation (IT) has emerged as a significant research area for the treatment of diabetes mellitus and has witnessed a surge in scholarly attention. Despite its growing importance, there is a lack of bibliometric analyses that encapsulate the evolution and scientific underpinnings of this field. This study aims to fill this gap by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to delineate current research hotspots and forecast future trajectories within the IT domain with a particular focus on evidence-based medicine practices. METHODS This analysis scrutinized literature from January 1, 2000, to October 1, 2023, using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Employing bibliometric tools such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "bibliometrix," we systematically evaluated the literature to uncover scientific trends and collaboration networks in IT research. RESULTS The analysis revealed 8388 publications from 82 countries, predominantly the United States and China. However, global cross-institutional collaboration in IT research requires further strengthening. The number of IT-related publications has increased annually. Leading research institutions in this field include Harvard University, the University of Alberta, the University of Miami, and the University of Minnesota. "Transplantation" emerges as the most frequently cited journal in this area. Shapiro and Ricordi were the most prolific authors, with 126 and 121 publications, respectively. Shapiro also led to co-citations, totaling 4808. Key research focuses on IT sites and procedures as well as novel therapies in IT. Emerging research hotspots are identified by terms like "xenotransplantation," "apoptosis," "stem cells," "immunosuppression," and "microencapsulation." CONCLUSIONS The findings underscore a mounting anticipation for future IT research, which is expected to delve deeper into evidence-based methodologies for IT sites, procedures, and novel therapeutic interventions. This shift toward evidence-based medicine underscores the field's commitment to enhancing the efficacy and safety of IT for diabetes treatment, signaling a promising direction for future investigations aimed at optimizing patient outcomes.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The gut-liver axis has emerged as a focal point in chronic liver disorders, prompting more research into the role of the gut microbiota in liver cirrhosis. In individuals with liver cirrhosis, changes in the structure and function of the gut microbiota are closely tied to clinical prognosis. However, there is a scarcity of bibliometric evaluations conducted in this particular field. METHODS This study is aiming to conduct a complete analysis of the knowledge structure and centers pertaining to gut microbiota in liver cirrhosis using bibliometric methods. Publications on gut microbiota and liver cirrhosis from 2001 to 2023 are sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection. For the bibliometric analysis, we employ VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "bibliometrix". RESULTS Our study encompasses a comprehensive collection of 3109 articles originating from 96 countries, with notable contributions from leading nations such as the United States and China. The quantity of publications concerning the gut microbiota of liver cirrhosis rises annually. The University of California San Diego, Virginia Commonwealth University, Zhejiang University are the primary research institutions. World Journal of Gastroenterology publishes the most papers in this field, while hepatology is the most frequently co-cited journal. These publications come from a total of 15,965 authors, and the most prolific authors are Bajaj Jasmohan S., Schnabl Bernd and Gillevet Patrick M., while the most co-cited authors are Bajaj Jasmohan S., Younossi Zobair M., and Reiner Wiest. In addition, "dysbiosis", "gut microbiota", "intestinal barrier", "fecal microbiota transplantation", and "complement-system" are the primary keywords of research trends in recent years. DISCUSSION This study offering a comprehensive insight into the research dynamics surrounding gut microbiota in patients with liver cirrhosis. It delineates the current research frontiers and hotspots, serving as a valuable guide for scholars.

Abstract
The use of liquid biopsy in cancer research has grown exponentially, offering potential for early detection, treatment stratification, and monitoring residual disease and recurrence. Exosomes, released by cancer cells, contain tumor-derived materials and are stable in biofluids, making them valuable biomarkers for clinical evaluation. Bibliometric research on osteosarcoma (OS) and exosome-derived diagnostic biomarkers is scarce. Therefore, we aimed to conduct a bibliometric evaluation of studies on OS and exosome-derived biomarkers. Using the Web of Science Core Collection database, Microsoft Excel, the R "Bibliometrix" package, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software, quantitative analyses of the country, author, annual publications, journals, institutions, and keywords of studies on exosome-derived biomarkers for OS from 1995 to 2023 were performed. High-quality records (average citation rate ≥ 10/year) were filtered. The corresponding authors were mainly from China, the USA, Australia, and Canada. The University of Kansas Medical Center, National Cancer Center, Japan, and University of Kansas were major institutions, with limited cooperation reported by the University of Kansas Medical Center. Keyword analysis revealed a shift from cancer progression to mesenchymal stem cells, exosome expression, biogenesis, and prognostic biomarkers. Qualitative analysis highlighted exosome cargo, including miRNAs, circRNAs, lncRNAs, and proteins, as potential diagnostic OS biomarkers. This research emphasizes the rapid enhancement of exosomes as a diagnostic frontier, offering guidance for the clinical application of exosome-based liquid biopsy in OS, contributing to the evolving landscape of cancer diagnosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The present study was conducted to investigate the scientific contributions of Iranians in the field of cardiovascular research, as indexed in the Scopus database, using bibliometric and altmetric methods. METHODS This applied study was conducted with a scientometric approach, utilizing bibliometric and altmetric indicators. The research population consisted of the scientific works of Iranian researchers in the field of cardiovascular diseases, indexed in the Scopus database over a period of 47 years. For bibliometric analysis and the generation of co-citation, co-occurrence, and co-authorship maps, the authors employed VOS Viewer software and the bibliometrix package in the R programming language. In the final stage, articles mentioned on social media were analyzed and evaluated using an altmetric approach. RESULTS The results indicated that the commencement point for the publication of documents was 1975, and there has been a steep increase in recent years. Moreover, the documents were primarily research articles out of 6853 retrieved documents, and a limited number of documents were single-authored. Other findings also revealed the co-authorship map of authors and the co-occurrence of words, highly cited authors and institutions, and highly frequent keywords, signifying the scientific collaboration of Iranian researchers with the United States and England. Altmetric analysis also demonstrated that 43.41% of documents were shared at least once on social media and had an Altmetric Attention score. Furthermore, the analysis of altmetric indices showed that Mendeley, Twitter, and News had the highest share of document mentions on social media, respectively. CONCLUSION The findings of the study can offer valuable information to researchers, managers, and policy makers to become aware of the current state of research in the field of cardiovascular diseases and implement the necessary policies to inform society and enhance public health status.

Abstract
The prodromal period of Parkinson's disease (PD) is currently a hot topic in PD research. However, no bibliometric analysis has been conducted in this research field. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the status, hotspots, and trends in the prodromal period of PD using bibliometrics. CiteSpace and visualization of similarities viewer were used to analyze articles and reviews on the prodromal period of PD in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. We analyzed the data on countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and cited references. In total, 909 articles from 65 countries, including the United States (n = 265, 29.15%) and Germany (n = 174, 19.14%), were included. The number of articles and reviews related to the prodromal period of PD has increased yearly. The University of Tubingen (n = 45, 4.95%), McGill University (n = 33, 3.63%), and University of London (n = 33, 3.63%) were the research institutions with the most published studies. Movement Disorders is the journal with the largest number of published papers (n = 98, 10.8%) and the most cited publications (co-citation = 7035). These publications are from 4681 authors, with Berg (n = 49, 5.39%) and Postuma (n = 40, 4.40%) publishing the most publications, and Postuma's study (n = 1206) having the most citations. Studying the nonmotor symptoms of PD precursors is a major topic in this research field. This is the first bibliometric study to comprehensively summarize the research trends and developments in the prodromal period of PD. This information identifies recent research frontiers and hotspots and provides a reference for scholars studying the prodromal period of PD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has shown great potential for treating diabetic foot (DF). AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of stem cell therapy for DF over the past two decades, with the aim of depicting the current global research landscape, identifying the most influential research hotspots, and providing insights for future research directions. METHODS We searched the Web of Science Core Collection database for all relevant studies on the use of stem cell therapy in DF. Bibliometric analysis was carried out using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R (4.3.1) to identify the most notable studies. RESULTS A search was conducted to identify publications related to the use of stem cells for DF treatment. A total of 542 articles published from 2000 to 2023 were identified. The United States had published the most papers on this subject. In this field, Iran's Shahid Beheshti University Medical Sciences demonstrated the highest productivity. Furthermore, Dr. Bayat from the same university has been an outstanding researcher in this field. Stem Cell Research & Therapy is the journal with the highest number of publications in this field. The main keywords were "diabetic foot ulcers," "wound healing," and "angiogenesis." CONCLUSION This study systematically illustrated the advances in the use of stem cell therapy to treat DF over the past 23 years. Current research findings suggested that the hotspots in this field include stem cell dressings, exosomes, wound healing, and adipose-derived stem cells. Future research should also focus on the clinical translation of stem cell therapies for DF.

Abstract
Introduction Acute lung injury (ALI) is a serious respiratory disease characterized by progressive respiratory failure with high morbidity and mortality. It is becoming increasingly important to develop functional foods from polyphenol-rich medicinal and dietary plants in order to prevent or alleviate ALI by regulating intestinal microflora. Rosa roxburghii Tratt polyphenol (RRTP) has significant preventive and therapeutic effects on lipopolysaccharide-induced ALI mice, but its regulatory effects on gut homeostasis in ALI mice remains unclear. Methods This study aims to systematically evaluate the ameliorative effects of RRTP from the perspective of "lung-gut axis" on ALI mice by intestine histopathological assessment, oxidative stress indicators detection and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) production, and then explore the modulatory mechanisms of RRTP on intestinal homeostasis by metabolomics and gut microbiomics of cecal contents. Results The results showed that RRTP can synergistically exert anti-ALI efficacy by significantly ameliorating intestinal tissue damage, inhibiting oxidative stress, increasing SCFAs in cecal contents, regulating the composition and structure of intestinal flora, increasing Akkermansia muciniphila and modulating disordered intestinal endogenous metabolites. Discussion This study demonstrated that RRTP has significant advantages in adjuvant therapy of ALI, and systematically clarified its comprehensive improvement mechanism from a new perspective of "lung-gut axis", which provides a breakthrough for the food and healthcare industries to develop products from botanical functional herbs and foods to prevent or alleviate ALI by regulating intestinal flora.

Abstract
SCOPE Akkermansia muciniphila (A. muciniphila) are Gram negative commensal bacteria, degrading mucin in the intestinal mucosa, modulating intestinal permeability and inflammation in the digestive tract, liver, and blood. Some components can promote the relative abundance of A. muciniphila in the gut microbiota, but lower levels of A. muciniphila are more commonly found in people with obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndromes, or inflammatory digestive diseases. Over-intake of ethanol can also induce a decrease of A. muciniphila, associated with dysregulation of microbial metabolite production, impaired intestinal permeability, induction of chronic inflammation, and production of cytokines. METHODS AND RESULTS Using a PRISMA search strategy, a review is performed on the bacteriological characteristics of A. muciniphila, the factors capable of modulating its relative abundance in the digestive tract and its probiotic use in alcohol-related liver diseases (alcoholic hepatitis, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic transplantation, partial hepatectomy). CONCLUSION Several studies have shown that supplementation with A. muciniphila can improve ethanol-related hepatic pathologies, and highlight the interest in using this bacterial species as a probiotic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis (EDS). The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endothelial dysfunction. These pathological changes lead to systemic organ injury. However, an analysis using bibliometric methods has not yet been conducted in the field of EDS. This study was conducted to provide an overview of knowledge structure and research trends in the field of EDS. METHODS Based on previous research, a literature search was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for publications associated with EDS published between the year 2003 and 2023. Various types of data from the publications, such as citation frequency, authorship, keywords and highly cited articles, were extracted. The "Create Citation Report" feature in the WoSCC was employed to calculate the Hirsch index (h-index) and average citations per item (ACI) of authors, institutions, and countries. To conduct bibliometric and visualization analyses, three bibliometric tools were used, including R-bibliometrix, CiteSpace (co-citation analysis of references), and VOSviewer (co-authorship analysis of institutions, co-authorship analysis of authors, co-occurrence analysis of keywords). RESULTS After excluding invalid records, the study finaly included 4,536 publications with 135,386 citations. Most of these publications originated in the USA, China, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Harvard University emerged as the most prolific institution, while professor Jong-Sup Bae and his research team at Kyungpook National University emerged as authors with the greatest influence. The "protein C", "tissue factor", "thrombin", "glycocalyx", "acute kidney injury", "syndecan-1" and "biomarker" were identified as prominent areas of research. Future research may focus on molecular mechanisms (such as as vascular endothelial [VE]-cadherin regulation) and therapeutic interventions to enhance endothelial repair and function. CONCLUSION Our findings show a growing interest in EDS research. Key areas for future research include signaling pathways, molecular mechanisms, endothelial repair, and interactions between endothelial cells and other cell types in sepsis.

Abstract
To evaluate the temporal and spatial distribution of the knowledge network about tumor microenvironment and prognoses and explore new research hot spots and trends. Articles and reviews on tumor microenvironment and prognoses in the Web of Science journal from January 1999 to April 2022 were included. We used the CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to analyze the knowledge network composed of journals, institutions, countries, authors, and keywords. Frontiers in Immunology, Cancers, and Frontiers in Oncology have published more than 10% of articles in this field. China and the United States have contributed the most articles. Fudan University and Sun Yat-Sen University are the most active institutions. The authors in this field work closely; Zhang Wei and Douglas have made outstanding contributions. The three main research areas of tumor microenvironment and prognoses are microenvironment, prognosis, and immunotherapy. Until 2020, the main keywords were endothelial growth factor and adhesion. In the past three years, survival analysis, immune cell infiltration, and prediction model have been used. It can be seen that the focus in this field has shifted from tumor cell behavior and directly related molecules to prognosis prediction and non-tumor cells in the microenvironment. The future research trend may be to study the changes in the tumor microenvironment to predict the prognosis and guide the treatment. VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Microsoft Excel 2019 were used to conduct a comprehensive visual analysis of the research on tumor environment and prognoses and provide valuable reference materials for researchers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Metformin is an old drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and can play a variety of roles by regulating the gut microbiota. The number of research articles on metformin in the gut microbiota has increased annually; however, no bibliometric tools have been used to analyze the research status and hot trends in this field. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of publications on metformin and gut microbiota. METHODS We searched the Web of Science core collection database on June 8, 2023, for papers related to metformin and gut microbiota from 2012 to 2022. We used Microsoft Excel 2021, VOSviewer1.6.19, CiteSpace 6.2.4, and R software package "bibliometrix" 4.0.0 to analyze the countries, institutions, authors, journals, citations, and keywords of the included publications. RESULTS We included 517 papers, and the trend in publications increased over the last 11 years. The 517 articles were from 57 countries, including 991 institutions and 3316 authors, and were published in 259 journals. China led all countries (233 papers) and the most influential institution was the Chinese Academy of Sciences (16 papers). PLOS ONE (19 papers) was the most popular journal, and Nature (1598 citations) was the most cited journal. Li and Kim were the 2 most published authors (six papers each), and Cani (272 co-citations) was the most co-cited author. "Metabolites," "aging," and "intestinal barrier" were emerging topics in this field. CONCLUSIONS This bibliometric study comprehensively summarizes the research trends and progress of metformin and gut microbiota, and provides new research topics and trends for studying the effects of metformin on gut microbiota in different diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Since its initial report by James Parkinson in 1817, Parkinson's disease (PD) has remained a central subject of research and clinical advancement. The disease is estimated to affect approximately 1% of adults aged 60 and above. Deep brain stimulation, emerging as an alternative therapy for end-stage cases, has offered a lifeline to numerous patients. This review aimed to analyze publications pertaining to the impact of deep brain stimulation on the motor pathway in patients with PD over the last decade. METHODS Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection through the library of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China). The search strategy encompassed the following keywords: "deep brain stimulation", "Parkinson's disease", "motor pathway", and "human", from January 1, 2012, to December 1, 2022. Additionally, this review visualized the findings using the Citespace software. RESULTS The results indicated that the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and China were the primary contributors to this research field. University College London, Capital Medical University, and Maastricht University were the top 3 research institutions in the research area. Tom Foltynie ranked first with 6 publications, and the journals of Brain and Brain Stimulation published the greatest number of relevant articles. The prevailing research focal points in this domain, as determined by keywords "burst analysis", "encompassed neuronal activity", "nucleus", "hyper direct pathway", etc. CONCLUSION: This study has provided a new perspective through bibliometric analysis of the deep brain stimulation therapy for treating patients with PD, which can shed light on future research to advance our comprehension of this particular field of study.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We used bibliometric methods to evaluate publications on the role of nutrition in sarcopenic obesity and analyzed the current situation and developmental trends over the past 2 decades. METHODS Publications from 2002 to 2022 related to the role of nutrition in sarcopenic obesity were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and the Bibliometrix R package were applied to build relevant network diagrams. RESULTS One thousand ninety-four articles from 64 countries were included. The annual number of publications in this field has shown an intense growth trend. The University of Alberta, Yonsei University, and Korea University are the major research institutions. Clinical Nutrition has published the most papers on the role of nutrition in sarcopenic obesity, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition is the most co-cited journal. A total of 5834 authors conducted the relevant studies. Yves Boirie has published the most papers in this field, and AJ Cruz-Jentoft is the most co-cited author. CONCLUSION This is the first bibliometric study of the role of nutrition in sarcopenic obesity. This study systematically summarizes the research hotspots and development directions in this field, and provides a reference for scholars studying the role of nutrition in sarcopenic obesity.

Abstract
Background Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are often considered the gold standard and the cornerstone for clinical practice. However, bibliometric studies on worldwide RCTs of ophthalmology published in the 21st century have not been reported in detail yet. This study aims to perform a bibliometric study and visualization analysis of worldwide ophthalmologic RCTs in the 21st century. Methods Global ophthalmologic RCTs from 2000 to 2022 were searched in the Web of Science Core Collection. The number of publications, country/region, institution, author, journal, and research hotspots of RCTs were analyzed using HistCite, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Excel software. Results 2366 institutions and 90 journals from 83 countries/regions participated in the publication of 1769 global ophthalmologic RCTs, with the United States leading in the number of volumes and research field, and the Moorfields Eye Hospital contributing to the most publications. Ophthalmology received the greatest number of publications and co-citations. Jeffrey S. Heier owned the most publications and Jost B. Jonas owned the most co-citations. The knowledge foundations of global ophthalmologic RCTs were mainly retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye disease (DED), and cataracts, and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy (ranibizumab), topical ocular hypotensive medication, laser trabeculoplasty. Anti-VEGF therapy for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), DME (diabetic macular edema), and DED, the use of new diagnostic tools, and myopia were the hottest research highlights. Anti-VEGF therapy, prompt laser, triamcinolone, and verteporfin photodynamic therapy for AMD, DME, and CNV (choroidal neovascularization), DED, myopia, and open-angle glaucoma were the research hotspots with the longest duration. The future research hotspots might be DED and the prevention and control of myopia. Conclusions Overall, the number of global ophthalmologic RCTs in the 21st century was keeping growing, there was an imbalance between the regions and institutions, and more efforts are required to raise the quantity, quality, and global impact of high-quality clinical evidence in developing countries/regions.

Abstract
Rheumatic diseases (RDs) include a variety of autoimmune disorders defined by severe inflammation, primarily affecting the joints, tendons, ligaments, bones, and muscles. Recent research has revealed the association between rheumatic diseases and gut microbiota, thereby providing insights into the underlying mechanisms of disease pathogenesis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quantity and quality of scientific research regarding the association between RDs and gut microbiota, as well as to elucidate the characteristics of worldwide research output in this field. The present bibliometric analysis was carried out using the Scopus database, using the keywords "rheumatology," "arthritis," and "gut microbiota." The study involved determining the number of articles, the number of active countries with journals, the identification of prolific authors, and the collection of citation data. Additionally, analyses of trends were conducted. 503 articles in all were reviewed. Collaboration networks were visualized using mapping techniques. The number of articles on RDs and gut microbiota exhibited a consistent pattern from 2002 to 2022 (p < 0.05). The five most productive countries were China (n = 128; 25.45%), the United States (n = 101; 20.07%), Italy (n = 40; 7.95%), the United Kingdom (n = 20; 3.98%), and Japan (n = 17; 3.38%). Israel, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal had the highest values regarding the number of articles per million population. Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom were the top three countries regarding average citation count. This bibliometric analysis evaluates and synthesizes global scientific output on RDs and gut microbiota. The literature on the association between rheumatic diseases and gut microbiota is growing. Supporting researchers in countries with limited involvement in this field will contribute to its growth.

Abstract
The pathogenesis of obesity has been linked to alterations in gut microorganisms. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Lactobacillus kefiri, together with PENS T6 and a hypocaloric diet, on weight loss, hypertension and laboratory glycemic and lipid profile. A prospective non-randomized study was conducted involving adult patients with a body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg/m2. Patients were divided into two groups: those undergoing PENS-T6 and hypocaloric diet (PENS-Diet Group) and those undergoing the same PENS-T6 scheme and hypocaloric diet, but additionally receiving probiotics including Lactobacillus kefiri (PENS-Diet + L. kefiri Group). Weight loss was assessed at the end of the treatment, and analytical glycemic and lipid profile, and microbiological analysis of feces were performed before and after treatment. The addition of Lactobacillus kefiri to PENS T6 and a low-calorie diet, increases weight loss and further improves the glycemic and lipid profile. L. kefiri also causes a further improvement in obesity-associated dysbiosis, mainly by increasing the muconutritive (Akkermansia muciniphila) and regulatory (Bifidobacterium spp.) microbiome, and the Phylum Bacteroidetes (Prevotella spp.) and decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often have digestive problems and microbial imbalances in their guts, suggesting that these conditions may play a role in the development of the disorder. Scopus-based research on the gut microbiota and ASD was examined in this bibliometric analysis to shed light on the current state of research and identify potential hotspots for future work in this area. METHODS We searched documents from the Scopus database and reference citation analysis to collect published data on the gut microbiota and ASD from 2003 to 2022. The downloaded document records were exported to VOSviewer v.1.6.19 to examine and visualize the collaboration between countries and determine the research hotspots. RESULTS The search yielded 958 articles specifically dedicated to gut microbiota and ASD. The number of publications in this field increased rapidly after 2013, with a peak in 2022. The United States (n = 267; 27.87%) was the most active country, followed by China (n = 171; 17.85%) and Italy (n = 96; 10.02). International collaboration was observed, with the USA playing a central role. University College Cork, Ireland, was the most productive institution (n = 24; 2.51%). The National Natural Science Foundation of China was the most active funding agency (n = 76; 7.93%). Nutrients journal had the highest number of publications (n = 28; 2.92%). The articles related to gut microbiota and ASD were highly cited, with an h-index of 108. The research themes identified focused on the modulation of gut microbiota as a potential therapy for children with ASD and gut-brain axis dysfunction in ASD. CONCLUSIONS In recent years, the study of gut microbiota and its association with ASD has garnered considerable interest as an emergent field of study. The results of this study substantially enhance our current understanding of the knowledge landscape in this field and illuminate potential avenues for future research. It is essential to emphasize the significance of devoting more resources to the newest and most promising research areas, such as investigating the potential therapeutic benefits of modulating the intestinal microbiota in children with ASD. This research has enormous potential and merits intensified focus and investigation.

Abstract
Objective Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common cause of drug-resistant epilepsy and can be treated surgically to control seizures. In this study, we analyzed the relevant research literature in the field of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) treatment to understand the background, hotspots, and trends in TLE treatment research. Methods We discussed the trend, frontier, and hotspot of scientific output in TLE treatment research in the world in the last 20 years by searching the core collection of the Web of Science database. Excel and CiteSpace software were used to analyze the basic data of the literature. Result We identified a total of 2,051 publications on TLE treatment from 75 countries between 2003 and 2023. We found that the publication rate was generally increasing. The United States was the most publishing country; among the research institutions on TLE treatment, the University of California system published the most relevant literature and collaborated the most with other institutions. The co-citation of literature, keyword co-occurrence, and its clustering analysis showed that the early studies focused on open surgical treatment, mainly by lobectomy. In recent years, the attention given to stereotactic, microsurgery, and other surgical techniques has gradually increased, and the burst analysis indicated that new research hotspots may appear in the future in the areas of improved surgical procedures and mechanism research.

Abstract
Extracellular vesicles in wound healing have become an active research field with substantial value and potential. Nevertheless, there are few bibliometric studies in this field. We aimed to visualise the research hot spots and trends of extracellular vesicles in wound healing using a bibliometric analysis to help understand the future development of basic and clinical research. The articles and reviews regarding extracellular vesicles in the wound healing were selected from the Web of Science Core Collection. VOSviewers, CiteSpace and R package "bibliometric" were used to conduct this bibliometric analysis. A total of 1225 articles from 56 countries led by China and the United States were included. The number of publications related to extracellular vesicles increased year by year. Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University and Central South University are the main research institutions. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is the most popular journal in this field, while Stem Cell Research & Therapy is the most frequently cited journal. These papers come from 7546 authors, among which Zhang Wei has published the most papers and Zhang Bin has the most cocited papers. The research on the treatment strategy of extracellular vesicles in the process of wound healing is the main topic in this field. "exosomes", "miRNA", "angiogenesis", "regenerative medicine", "inflammation" and "diabetic wound" are the main key words of emerging research hotspots. This is the first bibliometric study, which comprehensively summarises the research trend and development of extracellular vesicles and exocrine bodies in wound healing. These informations determine the latest research frontiers and hot directions, and provide reference for the study of extracellular vesicles and exosomes.

Abstract
As a common chronic liver disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has attracted increasing attention in the past decade. Nevertheless, there are few bibliometric analyses that systematically study this field as a whole. This paper explores the latest research progress and future research trends of NAFLD through the method of bibliometric analysis. The articles related to NAFLD, published from 2012 to 2021 in the Web of Science Core Collections, were searched on February 21, 2022, using relevant keywords. Two different scientometrics software tools were used to conduct the knowledge maps of NAFLD research field. A total of 7975 articles on NAFLD research were included. From 2012 to 2021, the publications related to NAFLD increased by year. China ranked on the top of the list with 2043 publications, and the University of California System emerged as the premier institution in this field. PLOs One, Journal of Hepatology and Scientific Reports became the prolific journals in this research field. Co-cited reference analysis revealed the landmark literature in this research field. In terms of potential hotspots, the burst keywords analysis revealed that liver fibrosis stage, sarcopenia, and autophagy will become the focus of future NAFLD research. The annual output of the global publications in the field of NAFLD research showed a strong upward trend. Research in the field of NAFLD in China and America is more mature than in other countries. Classic literature lays the foundation for research, and multi-field studies provide the new development directions. And besides, fibrosis stage, sarcopenia and autophagy research are the hot spots and frontiers of this field.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is a large obstacle to the long-term survival of allograft kidneys. It is urgent to find novel strategies for its prevention and treatment. Bibliometric analysis is helpful in understanding the directions of one field. Hence, this study aims to analyze the state and emerging trends of AMR in kidney transplantation. METHODS Literature on AMR in kidney transplantation from 1999 to 2022 was collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. HistCite (version 12.03.17), CiteSpace (version 6.2.R2), Bibliometrix 4.1.0 Package from R language, and Gephi (https://gephi.org) were applied to the bibliometric analysis of the annual publications, leading countries/regions, core journals, references, keywords, and trend topics. RESULTS A total of 2522 articles related to AMR in kidney transplantation were included in the analysis and the annual publications increased year by year. There were 10874 authors from 118 institutions located in 70 countries/regions contributing to AMR studies, and the United States took the leading position in both articles and citation scores. Halloran PF from Canada made the most contribution to AMR in kidney transplantation. The top 3 productive journals, American Journal of Transplantation, Transplantation, and Transplantation Proceedings, were associated with transplantation. Moreover, the recent trend topics mainly focused on transplant outcomes, survival, and clinical research. CONCLUSIONS North American and European countries/regions played central roles in AMR of kidney transplantation. Importantly, the prognosis of AMR is the hotspot in the future. Noninvasive strategies like plasma and urine dd-cfDNA may be the most potential direction in the AMR field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in gastrointestinal and overall health. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) play a crucial role in advancing our knowledge and evaluating the efficacy of therapeutic interventions targeting the gut microbiota. AIM To conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature on RCTs involving the gut microbiota. METHODS Using bibliometric tools, a descriptive cross-sectional investigation was conducted on scholarly publications concentrated on RCTs related to gut microbiota, spanning the years 2003 to 2022. The study used VOSviewer version 1.6.9 to examine collaboration networks between different countries and evaluate the frequently employed terms in the titles and abstracts of the retrieved publications. The primary objective of this analysis was to identify key research areas and focal points associated with RCTs involving the gut microbiota. RESULTS A total of 1061 relevant articles were identified from the 24758 research articles published between 2003 and 2022. The number of publications showed a notable increase over time, with a positive correlation (R2 = 0.978, P < 0.001). China (n = 276, 26.01%), the United States (n = 254, 23.94%), and the United Kingdom (n = 97, 9.14%) were the leading contributing countries. Københavns Universitet (n = 38, 3.58%) and Dankook University (n = 35, 3.30%) were the top active institutions. The co-occurrence analysis shows current gut microbiota research trends and important topics, such as obesity interventions targeting the gut microbiota, the efficacy and safety of fecal microbiota transplantation, and the effects of dietary interventions on humans. CONCLUSION The study highlights the rapid growth and importance of research on RCTs that involve the gut microbiota. This study provides valuable insight into research trends, identifies key players, and outlines potential future directions in this field. Additionally, the co-occurrence analysis identified important topics that play a critical role in the advancement of science and provided insights into future research directions in this field.

Abstract
With the increased risk of complications associated with traditional spinal fusion for the treatment of degenerative disc disease, total disc replacement (TDR) has received increasing attention in recent years. Despite the rapid development of its related research fields, its research status and the hotspot analysis are still unclear. Our goal was to identify and analyze the global research trends on TDR using bibliometric tools. All TDR data were obtained from the WoSCC. The information of research field was collected, including title, author, institutions, journals, countries, references, total citations, and years of publication for further analysis. From 1993 to 2022, a total of 1167 articles and 11,348 references were included in this field. These publications are mainly from 53 countries/regions and 174 journals, led by the United States and China. According to the citation report, the US was absolutely in the leading position in this research field. The most contribution institution and author were Sichuan University and Liu H. Spine and European Spine Journal were the most active journal on TDR research, with 205 and 118 articles. Meanwhile, they were also the most frequently cited journals. The "bone loss," "cervical arthroplasty," "hybrid surgery" were the most frequently cited areas of TDR research. Meanwhile, the latest research hotspots and directions were "cervical disc arthroplasty," "7 year follow up," "heterotopic ossification." The scientific research on TDR has increased considerably in recent years. This study clarifies the current research status and future development trends in order to guide clinicians and researchers in the field of TDR. It can be inferred that cervical disc arthroplasty and bone loss will be the research focus in the future.

Abstract
Objective The relevant literatures in the field of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumor were analyzed to understand the lineage, hot spots and development trends of research in this tumor. Method The Web of Science core collection was searched for English-language literature about neuroendocrine tumors of the lung published between 2000 and 2022. CiteSpace software was imported for visualization analysis of countries, institutions, co-cited authors and co-cited journals and sorting of high-frequency keywords, as well as co-cited references and keyword co-occurrence, clustering and bursting display. Results A total of 594 publications on neuroendocrine tumours of the lung were available, from 2000 to 2022, with an overall upward trend of annual publications in the literature. Authors or institutions from the United States, Italy, Japan and China were more active in this field, but there was little cooperation among the major countries. Co-cited references and keyword co-occurrence and cluster analysis showed that research on diagnostic instruments, pathogenesis, ectopic ACTH signs, staging and prognosis and treatment was a current research hotspot. The keyword bursts suggested that therapeutic approaches might be a key focus of future research into the field for pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors. Conclusion Over these 20 years, research related to neuroendocrine tumors of the lung has increased in fervour, with research on diagnostic instruments, pathogenesis, ectopic ACTH signs, staging and prognosis, and treatment being the main focus of research. Therapeutic treatments may be the future research trend in this field.

Abstract
Parthenolide (PTL) is a new compound extracted from traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, it has been proven to play an undeniable role in tumors, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory diseases. Similarly, an increasing number of experiments have also confirmed the biological mechanism of PTL in these diseases. In order to better understand the development trend and potential hot spots of PTL in cancer and other diseases, we conducted a detailed bibliometric analysis. The purpose of presenting this bibliometric analysis was to highlight and inform researchers of the important research directions, co-occurrence relationships and research status in this field. Publications related to PTL research from 2002 to 2022 were extracted on the web of science core collection (WoSCC) platform. CiteSpace, VOSviewers and R package "bibliometrix" were applied to build relevant network diagrams. The bibliometric analysis was presented in terms of performance analysis (including publication statistics, top publishing countries, top publishing institutions, publishing journals and co-cited journals, authors and co-cited authors, co-cited references statistics, citation bursts statistics, keyword statistics and trend topic statistics) and science mapping (including citations by country, citations by institution, citations by journal, citations by author, co-citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence). The detailed discussion of the results explained the focus and latest trends from the bibliometric analysis. Finally, the current status and shortcomings of the research field on PTLwere clearly pointed out for reference by scholars.

Abstract
Background: The gut-kidney axis refers to the interaction between the gastrointestinal tract and the kidneys, and its disorders have become increasingly important in the development of kidney diseases. The aim of this study is to identify current research hotspots in the field of the gut-kidney axis from 2003 to 2022 and provide guidance for future research in this field. Methods: We collected relevant literature on the gut-kidney axis from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database and conducted bibliometric and visualization analyses using biblioshiny in R-Studio and VOSviewer (version 1.6.16). Results: A total of 3,900 documents were retrieved from the WoSCC database. The publications have shown rapid expansion since 2011, with the greatest research hotspot emerging due to the concept of the "intestinal-renal syndrome," first proposed by Meijers. The most relevant journals were in the field of diet and metabolism, such as Nutrients. The United States and China were the most influential countries, and the most active institute was the University of California San Diego. Author analysis revealed that Denise Mafra, Nosratola D. Vaziri, Fouque, and Denis made great contributions in different aspects of the field. Clustering analysis of the keywords found that important research priorities were "immunity," "inflammation," "metabolism," and "urinary toxin," reflecting the basis of research in the field. Current research frontiers in the field include "hyperuricemia," "gut microbiota," "diabetes," "trimethylamine n-oxide," "iga nephropathy," "acute kidney injury," "chronic kidney disease," "inflammation," all of which necessitate further investigation. Conclusion: This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis and offers an up-to-date outlook on the research related to the gut-kidney axis, with a specific emphasis on the present state of intercommunication between gut microbiota and kidney diseases in this field. This perspective may assist researchers in selecting appropriate journals and partners, and help to gain a deeper understanding of the field's hotspots and frontiers, thereby promoting future research.

Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a large group of diverse hazardous organic compounds that are relatively stable and widely distributed throughout the world's ecosystems due to various anthropogenic activities. They are generally less soluble in water and have a low vapour pressure, but dissolve easily in adipose tissues; and they bioaccumulate into high concentrations in aquatic animals, thereby exerting a variety of hazardous and lethal effects. Despite the plethora of research studies on these pollutants, only few bibliometric reviews on the subject have been documented in the literature. As a result, the present study aimed to assess the research growth on PAHs-related studies across different ecosystems. Science Citation Index-Expanded of Web of Science was explored to obtain the research studies that were conducted between 1991 and 2020, and RStudio was utilized for the data analysis. Annual productivity increased arithmetically over the years, with a 9.2% annual growth rate and a collaboration index of 2.52. Foremost among the trend topics in this field of study include soil, sediments, biodegradation, bioremediation, bioavailability, and source apportionment. China, USA, Spain, France and Germany were the five top-ranked countries in terms of publications and citations over the three decades investigated; however, Korea, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada were ranked as the five leading countries in terms of collaboration per published article (MCP ratio). Therefore, efforts to strengthen international collaboration in this field of study especially among the less participating countries and continents are thus encouraged. The findings of this study are expected to provide future direction for the upcoming researchers in identifying the hot spots in this field of study as well as research leaders whom to seek collaboration in their future research plan.

Abstract
Microplastic distribution and pollution as emerging contaminants have become a leading environmental issue globally, owing to their ecological and health implications on biota and humans. Although several bibliometric studies have been reported on microplastics, they are mostly restricted to selected environmental media. As a result, the present study aimed at assessing the literature growth trend of microplastics-related research and their distribution in the environment using a bibliometric approach. The Web of Science Core Collection was explored to retrieve published articles on microplastics from 2006 to 2021, and the data were analysed using the Biblioshiny package of RStudio. This study also highlighted filtration, separation, coagulation, membrane technology, flotation, bionanomaterials, bubble barrier devices, and sedimentation as MP remediation techniques. In the present study, a total of 1118 documents were collected from the literature search; the documents/author and authors/document were 0.308 and 3.25, respectively. A significant growth rate of 65.36% was recorded with notable progress between 2018 and 2021. China, the USA, Germany, the UK, and Italy recorded the highest number of publications within the period under consideration. A collaboration index of 3.32 was also relatively high, with the Netherlands, Malaysia, Iran, France, and Mexico having the highest MCP ratios, respectively. It is anticipated that findings from this study will help the policymakers in addressing issues concerning microplastic pollution assist the researchers in identifying areas to concentrate their studies, and where to seek collaboration in their future research plans. Abstract
Background Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) often require immunosuppressive therapy and are hence susceptible to various opportunistic viral and bacterial infections. In this regard, many studies on IBD and COVID-19 have been conducted. However, no bibliometric analysis has been performed. This study provides a general overview of IBD and COVID-19. Methods Publications about IBD and COVID-19 from 2020 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and HistCite. Results A total of 396 publications were retrieved and considered in this study. The maximum number of publications were from the United States, Italy, and England, and the contributions of these countries were significant. Kappelman ranked first in article citations. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases were the most prolific affiliation and journal, respectively. The most influential research topics were "management", "impact", "vaccination", and "receptor". The following keywords represented research frontiers: "depression", "the quality of life of IBD patients", "infliximab", "COVID-19 vaccine", and "second vaccination". Conclusions Over the past 3 years, most studies on IBD and COVID-19 have focused on clinical research. In particular, topics such as "depression", "the quality of life of IBD patients", "infliximab", "COVID-19 vaccine", and "second vaccination" were noted to have received much attention recently. Future research should focus on our understanding of the immune response to COVID-19 vaccination in biologically treated patients, the psychological impact of COVID-19, IBD management guidelines, and the long-term impact of COVID-19 in IBD patients. This study will provide researchers with a better understanding of research trends on IBD during COVID-19.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer is one of the most common malignant neoplasms with an increasing incidence, low rate of early diagnosis, and high degree of malignancy. In recent years, immunotherapy has made remarkable achievements in various cancer types including pancreatic cancer, due to the long-lasting antitumor responses elicited in the human body. Immunotherapy mainly relies on mobilizing the host's natural defense mechanisms to regulate the body state and exert anti-tumor effects. However, no bibliometric research about pancreatic cancer immunotherapy has been reported to date. This study aimed to assess research trends and offer possible new research directions in pancreatic cancer immunotherapy. METHODS The articles and reviews related to pancreatic cancer immunotherapy were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and an online platform, and were used to analyze co-authorship, citation, co-citation, and co-occurrence of terms retrieved from the literature highlighting the scientific advances in pancreatic cancer immunotherapy. RESULTS We collected 2475 publications and the number of articles was growing year by year. The United States had a strong presence worldwide with the most articles. The most contributing institution was Johns Hopkins University (103 papers). EM Jaffee was the most productive researcher with 43 papers, and L Zheng and RH Vonderheide ranked second and third, with 34 and 29 papers, respectively. All the keywords were grouped into four clusters: "immunotherapy", "clinical treatment study", "tumor immune cell expression", "tumor microenvironment". In the light of promising hotspots, keywords with recent citation bursts can be summarized into four aspects: immune microenvironment, adaptive immunotherapy, immunotherapy combinations, and molecular and gene therapy. CONCLUSIONS In recent decades, immunotherapy showed great promise for many cancer types, so various immunotherapy approaches have been introduced to treat pancreatic cancer. Understanding the mechanisms of immunosuppressive microenvironment, eliminating immune suppression and blocking immune checkpoints, and combining traditional treatments will be hotspots for future research.

Abstract
Background: Nanocomposite Hydrogels (NHs) are 3D molecular networks formed by physically or covalently crosslinking polymer with nanoparticles or nanostructures, which are particularly suitable for serving as carriers for drug delivery systems. Many articles pertaining to the applications of Nanocomposite Hydrogels for drug delivery have been published, however, the use of bibliometric and visualized analysis in this area remains unstudied. The purpose of this bibliometric study intended to comprehensively analyze the knowledge domain, research hotspots and frontiers associated with the applications of Nanocomposite Hydrogels for drug delivery. Methods: We identified and retrieved the publications concerning the applications of NHs for drug delivery between 2003 and 2022 from Web of Science Core Collection Bibliometric and visualized analysis was utilized in this investigative study. Results: 631 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were identified and retrieved from WoSCC. Among those, 2,233 authors worldwide contributed in the studies, accompanied by an average annual article increase of 24.67%. The articles were co-authored by 764 institutions from 52 countries/regions, and China published the most, followed by Iran and the United States. Five institutions published more than 40 papers, namely Univ Tabriz (n = 79), Tabriz Univ Med Sci (n = 70), Islamic Azad Univ (n = 49), Payame Noor Univ (n = 42) and Texas A&M Univ (n = 41). The articles were published in 198 journals, among which the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (n = 53) published the most articles, followed by Carbohydrate Polymers (n = 24) and ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces (n = 22). The top three journals most locally cited were Carbohydrate Polymers, Biomaterials and Advanced materials. The most productive author was Namazi H (29 articles), followed by Bardajee G (15 articles) and Zhang J (11 articles) and the researchers who worked closely with other ones usually published more papers. "Doxorubicin," "antibacterial" and "responsive hydrogels" represent the current research hotspots in this field and "cancer therapy" was a rising research topic in recent years. "(cancer) therapeutics" and "bioadhesive" represent the current research frontiers. Conclusion: This bibliometric and visualized analysis offered an investigative study and comprehensive understanding of publications regarding the applications of Nanocomposite Hydrogels for drug delivery from 2003 to 2022. The outcome of this study would provide insights for researchers in the field of Nanocomposite Hydrogels applications for drug delivery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor, its high incidence of metastasis and poor prognosis have led to a great deal of concern for osteosarcoma. In many cancer types, metabolic processes are important for tumor growth progression, so interfering with the metabolic processes of osteosarcoma may be a therapeutic option to stall osteosarcoma progression. A key mechanism of how metabolic processes contribute to the growth and survival of various cancers, including osteosarcoma, is their ability to support tumor cell metabolism. Research related to this field is a direction of great importance and potential. However, to our knowledge, no bibliometric studies related to this field have been published, and we will fill this research gap. METHODS Publications were retrieved on January 1, 2023 from the 1990-2022 Science Citation Index of the Web of Science Core Collection. The Bibliometrix package in R software, VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were used to analyze our research directions and to visualize global trends and hotspots in osteosarcoma and metabolism related research. RESULTS Based on the search strategy, 833 articles were finally filtered. In this area of research related to osteosarcoma metabolism, we found that China, the United States and Japan are the top 3 countries in terms of number of articles published, and the journals and institutions that have published the most research in this area are Journal of bone and mineral research, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In addition, Baldini, Nicola, Reddy, Gs and Avnet, Sofia are the top three authors in terms of number of articles published in studies related to this field. The most popular keywords related to the field in the last 30 years are "metabolism" and "expression", which will guide the possible future directions of the field. CONCLUSION We used Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and Citespace to visualize and bibliometrically analyze the current status and possible future hotspots of research in the field of osteosarcoma metabolism. Possible future hotspots in this field may focus on the related terms "metabolism", "expression", and "migraation".
