All authors are exempt from the publication fee for the 20 BPG journals indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central
We are very pleased to announce that, starting June 23, 2018 and onward, all authors are exempt from the publication fee for the 20 journals published by the Baishideng Publishing Group (BPG)’s that are currently indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central.
Authors are encouraged to submit their high quality manuscripts through the F6Publishing system at https://www.f6publishing.com. Our team will complete the editorial and peer-review processes for the manuscript in 28 days. Positive peer review will lead to release of your first-class scientific results to the world in this short time, when readers across the globe will be able to download and read your first-class scientific results for free.
The 20 BPG journals that are currently indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central are:
World Journal of Biological Chemistry
World Journal of Clinical Oncology
World Journal of Clinical Pediatrics
World Journal of Critical Care Medicine
World Journal of Experimental Medicine
World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology
World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics
World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery
World Journal of Meta-Analysis
World Journal of Transplantation
The type of manuscripts includes Minireview, Review, Original Articles, and Case Report. The basic requirements for each manuscript type are as follows:
1 Minireview Article. A minireview article will focus on research frontiers in the field of oncology and will analyze the current trends, questions and progress of research development to identify which questions have been resolved, which questions have not yet been resolved, and what new questions have arisen or are being formed. Ultimately, the Minireview will present recommendations, including discussion of methods, for addressing the questions.
2 Review Article. A review article that will focus on the status quo of the overall research in the field, highlighting the most important research topics, the problems that have now been resolved and those that remain to be resolved, and the future research directions that may maximize the practical impact on a field.
3 Basic Study. Detailed basic studies providing novel and innovative findings in medical basic research.
4 Case Control Study. An investigation of a disease of interest, using a case group with the disease and a control (comparison, referent) group without the disease, followed by a description of the relationship of an attribute of the disease and its examination by comparative analysis of diseased versus non-diseased persons, with regard to the frequency or levels of the attribute in each group.
5 Clinical Trials Study. A preplanned study of the safety, efficacy, or optimum dosage schedule (if appropriate) of one or more diagnostic, therapeutic or prophylactic technique(s), device(s) or drug(s) selected according to predetermined criteria of eligibility and observed for predefined evidence of favorable and/or unfavorable effects.
6 Observational Study. A clinical study in which participants may receive diagnostic, therapeutic or other types of interventions, but the investigator does not assign participants to receive specific interventions (as is done in an ‘interventional’ study).
7 Prospective Study. An investigation of a population for a sufficient number of persons over a sufficient number of years to generate incidence and/or mortality rates subsequent to the selection of the study group.
8 Randomized Clinical Trial. A clinical trial in which the participants are assigned by chance to separate groups for comparison of different treatments; neither the researchers nor the participants can choose which group any individual is ultimately assigned to. Using chance to assign people to groups means that the groups will be similar and that the treatments they receive can be compared objectively. At the time of the trial, it is not known which treatment is best. Finally, study participation in a randomized trial is completely at the discretion of the patient.
9 Randomized Controlled Trial. A clinical trial that involves at least one test treatment and one control treatment, concurrent enrollment and follow-up of the test- and control-treated groups, and in which the treatments to be administered are selected/assigned by a random process, such as the use of a random-numbers table.
10 Retrospective Cohort Study. A research study in which the medical records of groups of individuals who are alike in many ways but differ in a certain characteristic (e.g., female nurses who smoke and those who do not smoke) are compared for a particular outcome (i.e. gastric cancer).
11 Retrospective Study. A study to test etiologic hypotheses by which inferences about an exposure to putative causal factors are derived from data relating to characteristics of persons under study or to events or experiences in their past. The essential feature of the retrospective study is that some of the persons under study have the disease or outcome of interest and their characteristics are compared with those of unaffected persons.
12 Systematic Review. A summarization of the recent and comprehensive published material on a particular subject, without bias.
13 Evidence-Based Medicine. A descriptive narrative of an approach for practicing medicine with the goal of evaluating and improving patient care.
14 Meta-Analysis. A summarization of a given quantitative effect (e.g., the effectiveness and safety of clinical treatments determined by combining data from two or more randomized controlled trials, thereby providing more precise and externally valid estimates than those that would be obtained from each individual dataset if analyzed separately from the others).
15 Case Report. Presenting a rare or typical case or case series, and providing discussion with the context of the current literature and clinical practice.
About BPG
The BPG possesses many resources for publishing high quality academic journals, including the following:
First, BPG’s enterprise culture is consistently “abiding by publishing ethics and standards and providing services for authors and readers”.
Second, the BPG has introduced a 7-day publishing management system. Each process of peer-reviewed manuscript publication must be finished in 7 days. For example, the first manuscript submission, peer review, and first decision must each be finished in 7 days.
Third, the BPG is an internationally recognized professional publishing company, and it is a member of CrossRef, Committee on Publication Ethics, Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association, Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, and International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers.
Fourth, the BPG follows the standards of Publication Ethics. For more information, please visit: https://www.wjgnet.com/bpg/GerInfo/288
Fifth, the BPG has established and strictly applies high quality peer review criteria. For more information, please visit: https://f6publishing.blob.core.windows.net/customuploadedfiles/BPG_Criteria_Checklist_for_New_Manuscript_Peer-Review.pdf
Sixth, the BPG has 26 years of experience in editing and publishing medical journals. We currently publish 43 clinical medical journals covering a wide range of topics, 4 of which are indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded, 23 in PubMed Central and PubMed, and 10 in Emerging Sources Citation Index. Among these, the World Journal of Gastroenterology 2017 Impact Factor: 3.300; World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology Impact Factor 2017: 3.140; World Journal of Clinical Cases 2017 Impact Factor: 1.931; and World Journal of Stem Cells 2017 Impact Factor: 4.376.
Finally, the BPG has a self-developed multifunctional peer-review and online release system, featuring the important functions of Authors Evaluation (authors tracking evaluation of the publisher) and Article Quality Tracking (reviewers tracking evaluation of article quality). In alignment with these quality standards, the BPG has created the ‘Baishideng Distinguished Award’ to recognize authors who have published excellent articles in BPG’s journals. The first prize will be 5000 USD. The second prize will be 3000 USD. The third prize will be 2000 USD. In addition, each winner will be presented an official certificate for their Baishideng Distinguished Award.
