Baishideng Publishing Group Inc was built upon the knowledge and experience gained with its predecessor, Baishideng Publishing Group Co., Limited and launched on July 07, 2010 as a specialized publisher that mainly engages in editing, publishing, and distribution of the World series medical journals. The earliest publication of the Baishideng Publishing Group (Baishideng) dates back to January 15, 1993 (the Chinese language Journal of New Digestology, renamed Shijie Huaren Xiaohua Zazhi/World Chinese Journal of Digestology on January 15, 1999), which was followed on October 01, 1995 by the English language China National Journal of New Gastroenterology (renamed World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) on January 15, 1998). In order to effectively edit and publish these two journals, the Baishideng BioMed Scientific Co., Ltd. was established on December 11, 2006. Today, Baishideng maintains its dedication to a sustainable publication business model that provides top-quality journals reporting clinical and basic research in a broad range of fields by following the highest international standards for ethics in publishing and research. The Baishideng has 30 years of experience in editing and publishing medical journals. We currently publish 47 clinical medical journals covering a wide range of topics, 7 of which are indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), and 23 in PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed. The 2020 impact factors among these are: 5.742 for the World Journal of Gastroenterology; 5.326 for the World Journal of Stem Cells; 4.571 for the World Journal of Psychiatry; 3.763 for the World Journal of Diabetes; 3.393 for the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology; 2.582 for the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery; and 1.337 for the World Journal of Clinical Cases. The Baishideng is an internationally recognized professional publishing company, and it is a member of CrossRef, Committee on Publication Ethics, Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association, and Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers.
