ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGE
All articles published by Baishideng Publishing Group (Baishideng) are selected by an in-house editor and fully peer-reviewed by external reviewers. All Baishideng journals are open-access (OA). An Article Processing Charge (APC) for OA publication will be invoiced upon the acceptance of each manuscript and remitted in full by the authors’ affiliations or funders to Baishideng before publication. The APC covers the costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management.
For unsolicited manuscripts, there are following four levels of APC: (1) Standard APC, for general manuscripts; (2) 10% discounted APC, for manuscripts contributed by young scholars under 45 years-old; (3) 20% discounted APC, for manuscripts that are given rating of scientific significance as AA or AB or BB (A: Excellent; B: Good) by peer reviewers; and (4) 50% discounted APC, for manuscripts contributed by a corresponding author who is a member of the editorial board or serves as a peer reviewer for Baishideng-published journals. We also provide discounts in line with the Research4Life programme as follows: Group A countries: APC is fully waived; and Group B countries: 50% discount. For invited manuscripts, the APC is fully waived.

2If an unsolicited manuscript meets any of the following requirements, the APC will be reduced by 10%: Supported by a fund of national level or above; Having a corresponding author who is a member of an association of national level or above; or, Having a first author who is a young scholar under 45 years-old. Please note, these discounts cannot be combined; if your paper fits one or more of the criteria, the 10% discount will apply solely.
3If the scientific significance of an unsolicited manuscript is rated as AA or AB or BB (A: Excellent; B: Good) by the peer reviewers, the APC will be reduced by 20%. Please note, this discount cannot be combined with any other discount; if your paper fits the requirements for both the 10% discount (detailed above) and the 20% discount (detailed here), the 20% discount will be applied solely.
4If an unsolicited manuscript has a corresponding author who is a member of the editorial board or serves as a peer reviewer for Baishideng-published journals, the APC will be reduced by 50%. Please note, these discounts cannot be combined; if your paper fits one or more of the criteria, the 50% discount will apply solely.
