In 2016, the World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) has published the 36th issue which containing 20 articles including one Editorial, 10 Reviews, seven Original Articles and two Case Reports contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Pediatric non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: Recent solutions, unresolved issues, and future research directions”, a Review article by Pietro Vajro, MD, Professor, et al from Pediatrics, Department of Medicine, Surgery and Dentistry - “Scuola Medica Salernitana”, University of Salerno, Italy; (2) “Epidemiology of hepatitis C in Greece”, a Review article by Christos Triantos, MD, et al from Department of Gastroenterology, University Hospital of Patras, Greece; and (3) “FOCUS: Future of fecal calprotectin utility study in inflammatory bowel disease”, a Observational Study article by Greg Rosenfeld, MD, MHSc, FRCPC, CCFP, Clinical Assistant Professor, et al from Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, St. Paul’s Hospital, University of British Columbia, Canada, etc. We invite you to peruse all 20 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
