In 2017, the World Journal of Hepatology (WJH) has published the 36th issue which containing 13 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombus”, a Minieviews by Toshiya Kamiyama, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Surgeon, Surgical Oncologist, et al from Department of Gastroenterological Surgery I, Graduate School of Medicine, Hokkaido University, Japan; (2) “Women receive more inpatient resections and ablations for hepatocellular carcinoma than men”, an Original Article by Lanla Conteh, MD, MPH, Director of Hepatology, et al from Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the Hepatocellular Carcinoma Multidisciplinary Clinic, the James Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 13 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress findings and provide insightful comments in hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
