In 2017, the World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) has published the 45th issue which containing 18 articles including 3 reviews, 11 original articles, 1 meta-analysis and 3 case report contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma: A review on molecular profiling of patient tumors”, a review by Ahmad Al-Hader, MD, et al from Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Indiana School of Medicine, United States; (2) “Recurrence in node-negative advanced gastric cancer: Novel findings from an in-depth pathological analysis of prognostic factors from a multicentric series”, a case control study by  Gian Luca Baiocchi, MD, Associate Professor, et al from , Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, Surgical Clinic, University of Brescia, Italy; and (3) “Impact of homogeneous pathologic response to preoperative chemotherapy in patients with multiple colorectal liver metastases”, a retrospective study by Jean-Marc Regimbeau, MD, PhD, Professor, et al from Department of Digestive and Oncologic Surgery, Amiens University Medical Center, France, etc. We invite you to peruse all 18 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
