In 2016, the World Journal of Gastroenterology(WJG)has published the 39thissue which containing 19 articles including one Diagnostic Advances, seven Reviews, eight Original Articles, one Meta-Analysis and two Case Report contributed byscientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Update on the endoscopic treatments for achalasia”, a Review article by Andrew Y Wang, MD, AGAF, FACG, FASGE, Associate Professor, et al fromDivision of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University of Virginia Health System, United States; (2) “Human bocavirus: Current knowledge and future challenges”, a Review article by Marcello Guido, Professor, et al from Laboratory of Hygiene, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies, Faculty of Sciences, University of Salento, Italy; and (3) “22-gauge core vs 22-gauge aspiration needle for endoscopic ultrasound-guided sampling of abdominal masses”, a Randomized Clinical Trial article by Athanasios D Sioulas, MD, PhD, et al from Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy, University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, etc. We invite you to peruse all 19 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
