I was born in 1979 in Akçaabat, my hometown is Trabzon, which is located in the Black Sea region of Turkey. Having graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul as MD, I completed my internal medicine and gastroenterology fellowship programs at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine, My thesis was on ‘Frequency of eosinophilic esophagitis in patients with reflux disease’. I worked as a specialist in Gastroenterology department in Bakırköy Educational end Training Hospital between 2013 and 2014. In 2013, I acquired the title of Assoc Professor of  Gastroenterology. In 2019, I acquired the title of Professor of  Gastroenterology. I am interested in therapeutic Endoscopy (EUS and ERCP). I believe that the future of gastroenterology is in the EUS-related technics. Presently I continue to work at Balıkesir Medical Faculty of Istanbul University, spending his time between the clinic and the classroom with students and assistant doctors. I am married and has one child (Ilgın’s Father).
