Prof Abdelkader Boukerrouche was born in September 1965 in Mostaganem, Algeria. . He studied medicine at the University School of Medicine of Oran and graduated in 1990. He completed his residency in Gastrointestinal Surgery in 1996 at the same University. From 2001 to 2010, he performed multiple trainings in vascular surgery, laparoscopic digestive surgery and oncologic gastrointestinal surgery at London and Paris. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in 2013 from the Algiers University of Medicine and on the same year he became full professor in gastrointestinal surgery in the same University. He is a teacher at the faculty of medicine of Algiers .From 2009 to-date; he is the responsible of surgical emergency unit. His research focus covers gastrointestinal cancer with particular interest to esophageal, liver and pancreatic diseases .From 2007 to 2012, he achieved a research work on the predictive factors of cervical leakage during substernal colonic interposition for esophageal caustic stricture .From 2011 t0 2014, he conducted a research project on the utility of Computed tomography scan in emergency situation during digestive caustic injury. He a member of editorial board of the journal of Algerian society of surgery. He is currently member of the Editorial Board of several surgery and gastroenterology journals and invited reviewer of more than 10 medical journals, including Disease of Esophagus, Gastrointestinal Digestive System, iMedPub Journals, Insight Medical Publishing journals , Medical & Clinical Reviews .Authors of more than 10 published papers in highly impacted journals.
