Prof. Jarosław Sak is the Head of Chair and Department of Humanities and Social Medicine, Medical Univeristy of Lublin, Poland. He graduated in philosophy in 1994 - MA at Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland and medicine in 1999 - MD at Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Lublin, Poland. In 1999 he obtained a philosophy doctor degree - PhD at Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. In 2013, he obtained habilitation at the II Faculty of Medicine with English Language Division in Medical University of Lublin, Poland His research interests include: internal medicine, nephrology, hepatology, ELSI in biobanking, artificial intelligence in medicine, robotics in healthcare, medical ethics, bioethics, history of medicine, and health psychology. In 2010, he made an expert opinion regarding opportunity of creating a Polish National genomic biobank for research purpose based on existing biobanking institutions (report No. 301DWB/R/2010 ordered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Government of the Polish Republic). He is a member of International Association for the History of Nephrology and a founding member of Polish Bioethics Society.
