Sergey Morozov, is the leading researcher and gastroenterologist/hepatologist of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Federal Research Center of Nutrition and Biotechnology, Moscow, Russia. He graduated from Ivanovo state medical academy in 2001 (MD diploma) and completed the course of residency in Moscow regional research clinical institute named after M.F. Vladimirskiy (Therapy) in 2003. He started his career as a junior researcher of the Department of Gastroenterology of the later institution. In 2005, he defended his PhD thesis "The role of CYP2C19 gene polymorphism in the efficacy of treatment of patients with erosive form of gastroesophageal reflux disease by proton pump inhibitors". Since 2006, he works in the Federal Research Center of Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety (former Research Institute of Nutrition). Dr. Morozov took an active part in providing the national study on the widespread of heartburn among Russian urban citizens, which was the first attempt to estimate the frequency of occurrence of this symptom of GERD in the country. He co-led the registration study of liver elastometry in Russia and contributed to the implementation of the method in the country. His special research interests concern GERD, obesity, NAFLD, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and the role of diet in the pathogenesis in treatment of common gastrointestinal diseases. Sergey Morozov is an author and co-author of more than 180 publications. He is an active member of the national society of neurogastroenterology and motility, ESNM, ISDE, ASN. He is a member of editorial board of the journal “Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology” and of advisory board of “Advances in Therapy”.
