Dr. Cheng Lan was born in Zizhong City, Sichuang Province, China at October 27, 1971.  He graduated from Chongqing University of Medical Science and got his Bachelor  Degree in July, 1994. In July, 1997 and July, 2002, he got his Master Degree and Ph.D. Degree in the same university. He worked as a Resident Physician for the Department of Pediatrics, the Affiliated 2nd Hospital of Hengyang Medical College from July, 1997 to July, 1999. In July, 2002, he was employed as Attending Doctor, Associate Professor, Chief Professor（December, 2009）at the Department of Gastroenterology, Hainan General Hospital, Haikou City, Hainan Province and worked there up to now. From November, 2006 to May, 2007, Dr. Lan visited the Gastroenterology and Liver Center, University of Massachusetts State, U.S.A and after that, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Lion Eye Center, University of Louisville, U.S.A for more than one year until April 2008.    At the present time, Dr. Lan worked as a gastroenterologist in his home institution. He is the Vice Director of the Department of Gastroenterologiy and the Director of the Lab of Digestive Diseases. As a professor of medicine, he was permanent member of  many medical association including Association of China Evidence-Based Medicine, Association of China digestive diseases, etc. Dr. Lan has worked for in-patients and out-patients for more than 20 years. He is good at handling with serious, emergency and complicated digestive diseases. Furthermore, as a digestive endoscopy expert, he helped many patients. Dr. Lan can independently operate gastro-entero endoscopy to remove polypus, stop bleeding, Dilation stenosis, as well as EMR, ESD, ERCP and EST, etc.   As a clinical and basic researcher, Dr. Lan focused on immunity-associated digestive diseases such as carcinoma, infection and inflammation, liver cirrhosis, IBD and IBS. He got the 2011 National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.81160057); 2013 International Science and Technique Corporation Foundation of Hainan Province, China(Grant No. KJHZ2013-14) . At present time, he is carrying out two research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 81860102 and No.82060102). Dr. Lan published more than 40 paper and gave literature on international, regional and national conference.
