Dr. Spiliopoulos is an Associate Professor of Diagnostic and Interventional at the 2nd Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, “Attikon” University General Hospital, Greece. He is also appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Medical Sciences, within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Having received his MD degree from Torino School of Medicine, Italy, Dr. Spiliopoulos undertook his postgraduate training at Patras University Hospital, Greece, and at Guy’s and St’ Thomas’ Hospitals, London, UK. He has worked as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital, Aberdeen, UK, and at the Nobles Hospital, Isle of Man, UK. Dr. Spiliopoulos has published more than 170 peer-reviewed PubMed articles (more than 60 as a 1st Author), 16 book chapters, and is a reviewer in 17 scientific PubMed journals. Dr. Spiliopoulos is an Assistant Editor in three and a member of the Editorial Board of 5 International peer-review PubMed/Scopus Scientific Journals. He has participated in numerous multicenter clinical trials as a primary or co-investigator and he has given more than 100 invited lectures in National and International Congresses. He is currently an elected member of the Standards of Practice Committee of the European Society of Interventional Radiology (CIRSE) and has received over 20 International Awards and Distinctions for his research in the field of Interventional Radiology.
