Dr. Zoran Gluvic, MD is assistant professor of Internal medicine-endocrinology at Zemun Clinical hospital, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia and research associate at the Laboratory for Radiobiology and Molecular Genetics, at “Vinča” Institute. Gluvic’s research is in the field of clinical and molecular endocrinology and biomedicine, and focuses on implementation of basic science results into clinical practice, especially in the field of endocrinology. His most recent work was on a project focused on regulation of expression/activity of nitric oxide synthase and inflammatory markers in various endocrine diseases, such as hypothyroidism, diabetes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. He has good knowledge in statistical methods, and is fluent in Serbian, English, and has basic knowledge in German. Dr. Gluvic attained MD, MSc (Basic and Clinical Immunology) and PhD (Endocrinology) at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Medicine. His PhD thesis entitled “The nitrite concentration in the blood in patients with hypothyroidism as a parameter for the introduction of substitution therapy” was done under the supervision of Dr. Esma R. Isenović at the “Vinča” Institute, Laboratory of Radiobiology and Molecular Genetics and Prof Miloš Žarković, Clinic for endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism disorders, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. He became a specialist in Internal medicine since 2004, and specialist in Endocrinology since 2010. Currently, he is the Head of Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and medical ICU and served as senior consultant endocrinologist at Zemun Clinical Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Dr. Gluvic participated as a researcher in several projects and published 33 papers, and 6 book chapters. He was a member of the commission for the defense of one doctoral dissertation, and one master thesis. Dr. Gluvic held lectures on basic (Internal medicine) and specialty studies (Endocrinology) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. He serves as a peer-review for 7 international and 2 domestic scientific journals and have a total of 377 citations and an H index of 11 (Scopus base citations as of 17.11.2021.).
