Dr. Ashraf Hefny is an Associate Professor, College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), UAE University (UAEU). He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1987 and obtained his master's degree in surgery in 1993 from the same university. He was awarded the MRCS, Glasgow (2006), and the Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), in 2014. Dr. Ashraf worked as a surgeon at Al-Mataria Teaching Hospital, Cairo (1990-1995), Al-Ain Teaching Hospital, Al-Ain, UAE (1995-2010), as a Senior Research Fellow CMHS (2010-2012), Specialist surgeon at Al Rahba Hospital (2012-2017), and Assistant Professor, CMHS (2017-2021). Dr. Ashraf is currently an Associate Professor, CMHS (2021 to date). He is an international educator for Point-of-Care Ultrasound and the Secretary of the Trauma Group at CMHS (2013 to date). He has contributed to more than 65 publications in refereed international journals in the area of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. Dr. Ashraf has been teaching CHMS medical students since 2003 and was awarded the Department of Surgery Teaching Award.
