Huang-Ying Tan, MD, PhD, the Professor of Department of Integrative Oncology, China-Japan Friendship Hospital; the Director of Neuroendocrine Tumor Centre of China-Japan Friendship Hospital. Prof. Tan specializes in diagnosis and treatment of neuroendocrine neoplasms. She is the professor of Capital Medical University, Peking Union Medical College and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. In addition, Prof. Tan is active in institutional committee activities and hold many association positions, e.g. the deputy leader of Chinese Study Group for Neuroendocrine Tumors in Pancreatic Cancer Committee of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, the member of Expert Committee on Neuroendocrine Tumors in Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, the member of European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society and the committee member of Oncology Committee, Beijing Association of Integrating of Traditional and Western Medicine. In 2009, Prof. Tan studied with Professor Paul Engstrom at Fox Chase Cancer Center in the United States. After returning home, she focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. She has presided over and participated in five projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 50 SCI and Chinese core journals articles, and participated in the compilation of more than 10 monographs. Her research directions are animal models and pathogenesis of gastrointestinal and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
