María Victoria Delpino works at the Institute for Biomedical Research on Retroviruses and AIDS (INBIRS) belonging to the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and the University of Buenos Aires. She received her M. S. degree in Biology at the University of Luján and her Ph. D. at the University of Buenos Aires. Her laboratory was pioneer in deciphering the molecular mechanisms involved in osteoarticular brucellosis. Also her group investigates others aspects of Brucella infection including the immune response and liver damage and how adrenal steroids modulate immune responses. Nowadays it has incorporated HIV, and SARS-CoV-2 infections into its research lines.
