Prof. Perez-Campos received his medical degree from the Benito Juárez University of Oaxaca (UABJO) in 1977 and his Ph.D. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1997. He has authored or co-authored over 150 publications, including peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters. Prof. Perez-Campos has a Google Scholar citation count of over 2000, with an h-index of 21. In Scopus, his record includes over 900 citations, with an h-index of 15. He was a founding member of the UNAM-UABJO Faculty of Medicine Research Centre in Oaxaca, Mexico, together with Drs. Edgar Zenteno and Félix Córdoba Alva. Also, has served on numerous grant review committees for the National Institute of Technology of Mexico and the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (Conahcyt). Prof. Perez-Campos collaborates in research projects with specialists from the General Hospital "Dr. Aurelio Valdivieso" of the SS, in Oaxaca Mexico. He also collaborates with specialists from CRIT - Oaxaca - Teletón Mexico. He was an official of the Benito Juarez University of Oaxaca. He coordinates the academic group ITOAX-CA-13. He teaches and practises Aikido.
