Dr. Chen is investigator at Department of Medical Research, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan and jointed Professor at Institute of Biomedical Sciences, National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan. He received his PhD degree at Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan and postdoctoral training at Institute of Preventive Medicine, National Defense Medical Center, Taipei, Taiwan. His specialty was at viral infection and inflammation, particularly CNS.
