Dr. Ammar is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Faculty of Pharmacy, Kafr-Elsheikh University, Egypt. He has graduated from faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2006 and has received his PhD in Pharmacology from University of Bonn, Germany in 2014 with a focus on modulating the endocannabinoid system in Cancer. He became a lecturer of Pharmacology and Toxicology at different private Universities in Egypt till he got his Associate Professor position at Kafr-Elsheikh University in 2016. He was trained during his Postdoc position at faculty of Pharmacy, Bonn University in 2017 on physiologically based pharmacokinetics modelling and simulation to enrich his wet lab experience with dry lab tools. His research interests are related to endocannabinoid system, disorders of gut-brain interaction, gut microbiome, phytomedicine, and novel alternative approaches for reducing animal use in pharmacology and toxicology. Dr. Ammar is a reviewer in Phytomedicine journal and journal of Ethnopharmacology. Currently, he is working as a Global Medical Manager at Bayer consumer health, Germany and one of Bayer science fellows.
