I am Dr. Akhtar Nadhman, a PhD in biotechnology with expertise in phototherapeutic nanobiotechnology and infectious diseases. With six months of research experience from Harvard University and MIT, US, I headed the position of Associate Professor and Head of Department at CECOS University, Pakistan. Additionally, working as a research consultant and biostatistician at DevRes Consultant, Pakistan, a consultant firm. As a seasoned antimicrobial agents expert, I am equipped with biotechnological, bacterial, cancer, and infectious diseases expertise, complemented by a robust 14-year research background. My contributions have been recognized with two Outstanding Research Awards from the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, as well as Best Researcher, Special Achievement, and Best Teacher awards at CECOS University, Pakistan. Furthermore, global recognition includes my inclusion in the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University and Elsevier. My professional trajectory led me to prominent roles, including a senior research position at NORI Hospital, Islamabad, and an academic role at the International Islamic University, Pakistan. Notably, my tenure as the Head of the Department at the Institute of Integrative Biosciences (IIB), CECOS University, resulted in my promotion to the esteemed position of Associate Professor. Winner of 04 research projects worth more than 12 million PKR. An accomplished researcher with a remarkable track record of publishing multiple research and review articles and book chapters in prestigious academic journals as evidenced by my authorship of over 75 published articles, one book chapter, and one editorial. With a cumulative impact factor exceeding 300, an H-index of 33, i10-index of 54, and 3500+ citations. I have published 07 articles as first author and 21 as Corresponding Author. I have presented my work in 7 conferences with one in ASM 2016 - Boston, US; ICGEB Italy; Jordon; Malaysia, and remaining in Pakistan. I am also a certified Master trainer of Biosafety and Microbiological work at diagnostic and research labs and institutes. I'm an experienced and dedicated reviewer with a proven track record of contributing to the peer-review process for over 120 international journal articles. I have demonstrated a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor and providing constructive feedback to authors, thereby contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the respective fields. These innovations have led to groundbreaking applications, particularly in visible light-activated doped metal oxide nanoparticles, demonstrating high efficacy against microbes, especially Leishmania parasites, bacteria, and cancer cells. I am particularly excited about the prospect of extending my research legacy in this area. My goal is to further modify and develop materials/molecules, specifically tailored to address health problems especially infectious ones, aligning seamlessly with global healthcare priorities.
