Peng Gao earned his Ph.D. at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the executive director of the Clinical Laboratory, The Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University, and the Doctoral supervisor of Dalian Medical University. His major research is the disease metabolomics study. An additional interest is the glioma hypotaurine metabolism. He discovered many disease-related metabolites and many small metabolite biomarkers. He functionally explained an unknown gene of E.coli. He found hypotaurine could facilitate glioma's malignant phenotype, and cysteamine dioxygenase played key roles in modulating the relevant events. He published over 60 papers in the relevant fields with over 2000 citations and his H-index is 28. Currently, he is the vice president of the Laboratory Medicine Branch, Liaoning Province Medical Association, and the President of the Biological Mass Spectrometry Branch, Liaoning Province Immunology Association. He has reviewed nearly 100 manuscripts for different journals. He published an editorial. His primarily engaged subject is glioma hypotaurine metabolism. His professional skills and areas of expertise are metabolomics and tumor metabolism. He is familiar with the modern molecular and cellular biology skills. His communication and leadership skills are also very well. His hobbies are walking and sightseeing.
