Dr. Guan Yang owned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. He is currently an Assistant Professor in Immunology in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health at the City University of Hong Kong. Autoreactive T cell activation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of certain T cell-mediated autoimmune disorders. Our group studies the mechanisms that drive autoreactive T cell activation through the utilization of an animal model simulating multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune demyelinating disease. I have published over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts and have received more than 2,900 citations. My H-index currently stands at 27. In addition, I have given many speeches at the international conferences. I have reviewed about 10 manuscripts/each year for international journals such as Journal of Immunology, Veterinary Research, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Frontiers in Immunology, Science China Life Sciences, The Innovation, International Immunopharmacology, Microbiological Research, Trends in Food Science & Technology, BBA-Reviews on Cancer, Food & Function, Journal of Functional Foods, Animal Nutrition, Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, Scientific Reports, Nutrients, Theranostics, Infection and Drug Resistance, etc. I also served as a review editor for Frontiers in Immunology since 2022. Our objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of T cell biology at the molecular level and to devise therapeutic strategies for these autoreactive T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. Our work is a combination of basic and applied research. I have good interpersonal communication skills and can manage several projects simultaneously. I like basketball.
