Guanà Riccardo, MD, PhD, born in Torino, Italy, on June 9, 1976. Degree at the University of Torino on 2001. Post-graduate degree in Paediatric Surgery on 2006. PhD in Bioengineering & Medical-Surgical Sciences in 2018. Master in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Pediatric Surgery (Alma Mater Studiorum, Bologna University) in 2021. A two-years period fellowship at Lenval Chlidren’s Hospital in Nice, France and one year spent as consultant at Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento, Italy. He is currently working as Consultant in Paediatric General Surgery at Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital, Torino, Italy. Master degree in Laparoscopic Surgery in 2003 (San Giovanni Battista Hospital, University of Torino. Regional contact for SPIGC (Italian Multidisciplinar Society of Young Surgeons) for the Piedmont Region since 2008. Board Member of the Italian Society for Videosurgery in Children. He is a member of the European Society of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons and of the Italian Society of Pediatric Surgeons. His primary research interests include paediatric laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and paediatric abdominal surgery. He is serving as an editorial member of several Italian and international peer-reviewed journals and expert reviewer for 10 international journals. He has published since now 34 articles in peer-reviewed journals (indexed on Pubmed/Medline) in the last 10 years and is co-author of 1 book. He conceived an experimental project by comparing 2D versus 3D laparoscopic camera in a set-up standardized and validated for paediatric surgeons.
