Dr. Ferreli Fabio is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and Andjunct Professor of Allergology-Immunology for Residency Program at Humanitas University in Milan. He was born and raised in Sardinia, completed his MD at the University in Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy) and completed his residency training in otolaryngology at Insubria University in Varese, Lombardy, in the North of Italy. After pursuing fellowship training in in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery at Ospedale di Circolo in Varese, he was recruited to join the National Cancer Institute - Regina Elena in Rome in 2014, as an junior research, focusing his clinical and research interests on head and neck oncology. After three years, he was recruited back to the North of Italy to join the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Department at the Humanitas Clinical and Research Institute in 2018 and at Humanitas University in 2021, as Assistant Professor. Dr. Ferreli is an expert in head and neck oncology, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. He treats patients with a wide variety of head and neck diseases, ranging from chronic rhinosinusitis, as well as olfactory disorders, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, benign and and malignant sinus and skull base tumors, to neoplasms of upper aerodigestive tract (oral cavity, pharynx and larynx), salivary glands, thyroid and parathyroids. He is Member of the Italian Society of Otolaryngology, Italian Rhinologic Academy and Italian Skull Base Society. Dr. Ferreli has published widely in topics such as endoscopic sinus surgery, new techniques for endoscopic skull base surgery and head-neck surgery, and olfactory dysfunction. He continues to perform research in these areas, and is beginning collaborative efforts with neuroscientists to develop new treatments that he hopes will eventually help cure patients with olfactory loss.
